Local 4 reporter Mara MacDonald retires after 20 years of stories

Our Mara MacDonald began working here in 2004. After her first week on the job, she was told, "It's like you've always been here." Kim Adams has great stories about being a young intern at channel 50 alongside another up-and-comer, a young fellow aspiring broadcaster who frankly scared the heck out of her because MacDonald is a force to be reckoned with.

I live in Cleveland. Mara has been my favorite reporter on tv since I was in college at the university of Toledo about 20 years ago and first started watching her reports. She is such a good storyteller and I will miss her at 11:00 so much. 😢

WDIV has been on a downward spiral ever since Kim Adams slithered her way back onto the scene, with help from her "bestie" Devin Scillian as Andrew Humphrey was pushed OUT so SHE can claim the lead meteorologist position. In addition to Mara, Bernie Smilovitz, Paula Tutman & Rod Meloni all leaving, we've also seen the departures of Jason Carr (fired), Paul Gross, Sandra Ali (who now anchors CBS News Detroit), Evrod Cassimy, Grant Hermes (who is now in Boston) and Brandon Roux, who was first demoted for that Ashlee Baracy chick and then literally pushed out into the cold and even cut off his microphone on his final appearance (he was fired cause he's friends with Jason Carr and did a podcast with him)
