I like the dragging videos. Any reviews of the Alaia boutiques? Their ballet flats are very popular with influencers that come in just to take photos and annoy the SA's to no end. Also curious about Balenciaga. I think they get a younger audience so l am just curious what their reviews are like.

One of my all time favorite quotes is from Eleanor Roosevelt: “no one can make you feel inferior without your consent.” I can definitely sympathize with both parties in some of these complaints; on the one hand, a customer is spending a lot of money for a special experience as well as a special product. But also, the SA is at their job, and has to manage their time. But under no circumstances would I allow bad treatment to affect me negatively. If they are rude, I wouldn’t take it personally, but I wouldn’t continue with the interaction. There are far too many place to spend my money at.

I have absolutely no shame in telling a boutique that i’m just browsing 😂. They just want to know who to give more of their time and energy to and sometimes that’s not me. But sometimes you tell them you want to buy and they won’t believe you until the transaction goes through😂 and then all of a sudden they want to roll the red carpet treatment out and offer you a drink and to look at more items smh happened to me in London 😭 just have to laugh

I always have mixed feelings about these stories. I certainly see both sides, but if the stores don’t want to deal with people who aren’t spending some minimum amount, then they might as well go with an appointment only process. Even if you’re planning to buy, you still need to try things on before making final decisions. I’m sure they get a lot of tourists who aren’t serious about buying, but it’s sad that all these people - including those that purchased something - have had such negative experiences.
@hayaglamazonluxe15 күн бұрын
Yes definitely one needs to try things on especially jewellery and clothing. I think the problem is freestanding stores get heaps of tourists and time wasters. So SAs are very suspicious if we are there to buy.
@marisaoosomran15 күн бұрын
Here we go again 🙄🤦♀️.. The thing is, the sales associates want to sell higher ticket items to earn more commission. Their attitudes clearly show that they are not interested in those that make "entry level" purchases and / or pay that amount. With the economy and value of currency changing every year, it's sad to say, but truthfully, if you want that kind of treatment, then they want you to step up yo game honey.. 💰
@hayaglamazonluxe15 күн бұрын
@@marisaoosomran I agree fully. They want to sell high ticket items and one can't blame them. These products are expensive and everyone wants to make a living.
@marisaoosomran15 күн бұрын
@hayaglamazonluxe I 100% agree. The cost of living has gone up, so the threshold of spending at these boutiques has gone up as well. Entry level spend may have been $1,000 USD precovid, but now it is around $2,000+ You now get less on everything (quality and quantity per $100), and so does your "special" treatment. You want more, you gotta pay more. 🤦♀️🤷♀️

The dragging videos are back! There are many times where SAs behave badly and work against a potential sale. But there are many customers that have no sense of luxury shopping etiquette. And here in the US, people think you’re elitist by even insinuating that there’s a difference in expected behavior when luxury shopping vs regular shopping. Also - SAs need to quickly assess the potential lifetime value of a client. Can they cultivate this client by matching the Maison’s design codes to the client’s personal style? I think people forget that shopping is about expressing yourself. The SAs can’t help you if you choose not to show them your style and instead focus solely on flexing.
@hayaglamazonluxe14 күн бұрын
YES they are back!! Wow I never knew it would be seen as elitist to have a difference in behaviour at luxe stores vs regular shops? That is absolutely fascinating. I think one must expect to act 'better' at a high end store as the items are more expensive. I definitely don't expect assistants at Zara or Mango to offer me drinks or somewhere to sit down LOL! You make a really good point about style so showcasing one's style is a good idea. X
@cap4life112 күн бұрын
@ yes seen as elitist because here, people believe that what you wear shouldn’t matter and the customer is always right regardless. The US is an aggressively casual country style wise which doesn’t blend well with the culture of luxury shopping.
