Great video. It proves the point that it doesnt matter what grade you are at or how long youve been climbing, once climbers get together, they share the joy of just climbing and encouraging each other 👍

Thats the best thing about climbing IMO you can relate to the struggle on a v2 even if you can climb v10

I live in the USA and I also think the people in the climbing community are nicer when compared to the general population. I’m glad to see that someone across the ocean also holds that belief.

Didnt realise you were so strong in the pullups mate. Did a few board climbs with you when I was climbing at flashpoint last year and you obviously have strong fingers, but pullups are definitely harder if youre taller. Good on you

Thats totaly true what Kathi saying there. I love the moment when you realy trining hard and beeing so much in focus that you get up the boulder and do only know how much you pull on that one heelhook ore foothold. And can't believe what happend. Especially outdoor

@oadindu_ this was a very cool video! as a new climber who's only been at it for 2 weeks now, it was very inspiring seeing climbers at different stages of their climbing journeys and with different abilities and personal strengths. Im excited to keep training to see where I'm at by the time I get to all of your benchmarks! Subscribed!

Its interesting seeing how much weaker other new climbers fingers are, im just about to finish my first year of climbing and can hang 185% of body weight on 20 mil for 5 seconds, aswell as hanging 5-10 seconds one arm on the beast maker 23mil in half crimp and 10 seconds one arm consistently in 3 finger drag. Might be because I only weight 135lbs and have the legs of someone who weights 110lbs.

Also i don't mean the first part in a rude way just wasn't sure of a better wording.

That’s fair,my friends who got me into climbing are super strong and could do v3 their first session. When I climbed I could barely do a v1-v2 .but my brother (after I’ve been climbing for a few months)easily did a v3-4. I think it all depends on how strong you are in certain areas before climbing. My brother worked construction so super strong forearms and fingers and my friend who would accidentally train finger strength at his IT job by holding computers with just his fingers.( also being super lightweight)

just a mention during the weighted pull up tests, it does make quite a bit of difference doing weighted pull ups with the dead hang on a climbing harness, vs the chain belt. The chain belt hangs the weight much lower which provides a way different center of gravity for pulling, while hanging on the harness the weight is much higher and closer to the body - making it in essence feel lighter since it is mor near the center mass.

@kyleofcanada Great example of how all climbers are different, with different styles, good days and bad days. Also loved the point about actual time on the wall, versus time since you started climbing, climbing for "1 year" in this case sounded to be closer to "5 years" worth of time actually on the wall.
