I definitely agree with Robert (In Deep Geek) about, “When in doubt, blame Blood Raven.” I think part of his plan was to get certain blood lines in place (Dany & Jon) by wiping out certain Targaryens so others could take the throne (Egg as an example). I think there are definitely different tribes or factions of the children of the forest. In Bran’s chapters he wargs Hodor and explores Bloodraven’s cave and comes across other children that seem to be imprisoned in the tree/caves.

No denying Lysa is BS crazy, but I don’t think her actions are strictly out of paranoia; she’s preparing for her and Littlefinger being found out and knows all would be coming for them. If Catlynn would only have keep her emotions in check and listened to her own concerns (I.e., insisting to Ned that Robert is no longer the man he knew, A.K.A. Littlefinger!) she could have worked with Ned and all proceeding conflicts and losses would probably been avoided.

As she is aware that a conflict is coming, better than anyone else, as she was close to Baelish, she understandably is planning to keep the Vale out of it. It explains her displeasure of having Tyrion there. In my opinion, having multiple suitors with her parallels the situation with Penelope from Odyssey, especially with her not giving a definite answer to anyone. Of course, Penelope was hoping that Ulysses would return, whereas Lisa is holding out for Baelish :)

There's some foreshadowing in "A Clash of Kings" about Lady Stoneheart, when Cat goes to a ruined sept and she prays to the statue of the "Mother" (Catelyn), but the statue's face is broken (Cat's death) and, then, Catelyn watches as the face warping and twisting and turns into an unknown, scarry face, like the "Stranger" (Lady Stoneheart). When I read that the first time, I thought it was just a sign for the fall of her family, but then I read "A Storm of Swords" and re-read ACoK and I was shocked and enlightned

Great as always! ❤️. I also agree that he’s little fingers son. The description of little finger when he was younger reminds me of how Robyn is. Plus the fact that I think little finger despises Lysa but uses her to keep his connection to Catelyn is why he pretty much poisons sweet Robyn the whole time he’s in the Eryie. He has Sansa now which is why I think he killed Lysa. He never loved her or the “child” that he gave her.

I just googled the Arryn family tree and we don't even know who Jon's mother is, so it's definitely possible, and most likely probable, that the Arryns have Firstmen blood. Though I still think it's possible that Littlefinger is sweet Robin's father. But regardless of who his father is, Cat & Lysa's mother was a Whent, who I'm pretty sure is descendant from House Lothston, who were Skinchangers, so I don't think there's any issue.

I think Sweetrobin's seizures had to do with him having greenseer/skinchanging bloodline. On his father's family, we have Artys Arryn, founder of House Arryn, who was said to mount and *control a giant eagle* , and there's the *Weirwood Throne* in the Eyrie, which make cause Sweetrobin seizures due to greenseer visions. On his mother's family, we have his grandma, Minisa Whent fron Harrenhal. Before the Whents, Harrenhal belonged to House Lothsons, who were posibly related to the Whents due to their redhair. Redhaired like Lysa, Sweetrobin's mom. The last Lothson was Danelle the Mad, *a sorceress* who bathe in blood and said to *control giant bats* , and she was *an associate of Bloodraven* .

I believe that Brynden the Bfish loved Catlyns mother, but she was betrothed to Hoster. That is why he would never let his brother arrange a marriage for him. He was very protective of his nieces & did not agree with brokering off Lysa to Jon Arryn for an army. Lysa may even be his child. He couldn’t protect her from Riverrun, but he could from the Vale. He knew that Lysa only agreed to the marriage to be in the Vale near Peter Balish.

Because I can't contain myself to just two comments, I'll leave a third (this was a good chapter, don't judge me). I say this with gentle effect...As I read this chapter and absorbed the topography of the Vale/the Eyrie, it was impressed upon me how difficult it would be for one person who was supposed to be there to openly maneuver; let alone someone who was trying to do so in secret. It brought to mind a certain theory about a certain character's alleged parents who supposedly had a secret love affair while one of them was stationed in the Eyrie, and it struck me as virtually impossible. There's no way someone could sneak into the Eyrie without anyone knowing. There would also be no conceivable way for one of the parents' best friends, who was also stationed at the Eyrie, not to know this secret lover was there or that his friend was constantly disappearing. Which begs the question, even if you assume this was an open secret between the foster brothers, why didn't one of them immediately guess that lover was the mother of his friend's son when they talked about it later? I say all of this to say despite trying to keep an open mind about everything, this chapter is a big knock against the theory in my mind🐺🌠🤷♀️.

I've always kinda questioned if sweetRobin is on the spectrum or has sensory processing disorder, there are many actions he has that remind me of our oldest and the issues we go threw with her. And I wanted to add that Cat's headaches while seeming at specific points coincidental it's possible they are epileptic in nature (mild from what Robin is dealing with) and stress at that time is what's triggering her. There is so much to say on this chapter great episode.

Wasn't Robin meant to get fostered by Stannis because he and Lord Arryn wanted him away from his mother and to teach him to be a real heir to a lord and Tywin did want to foster him (maybe more so as hostage so that Jaime could effectively rule as Warden of the East I'd think) but was refused by Jon Arryn
@ashleyofnaath3 жыл бұрын
Robert Arryn wasn't going to be fostered w/Tywin. Jon Arryn was making preparations to foster his son w/Stannis on Dragonstone. Maester Colemon (House Arryn's maester) says so to Catelyn in her next chapter, and in a previous Ned chapter a pot boy tells Ned the same thing as Ned investigates Jon Arryn's last movements. Because of this, I believe it was always the plan for Stannis to leave King's Landing; he would take Jon's son to safety and Jon would go to Robert about what they had discovered. This makes the most sense as Jon couldn't leave to protect his son (but Stannis could) and Robert didn't have the respect for Stannis to listen to him (but he did respect and trust Jon Arryn). What I suspect happened is this: Jon Arryn was privately arranging for Sweet Robin to be fostered w/Stannis. As Jon was making these preparations, Littlefinger was undermining him by privately urging King Robert to foster the boy w/Tywin Lannister. As LF worked on Robert, he was also working on the already paranoid Lysa; warning her something like this might happen. So when Robert started pushing Jon to foster his son w/Tywin publicly, it gave legitimacy to LF's warning to Lysa. She was compelled to save her son from "the lion's mouth", so she murders her husband and Littlefinger's got the chaos he thrives on. Not to mention he's down one major political rival. ***My uber-tinfoil theory is that this all could've been orchestrated by Littlefinger and Catelyn as a pretext to expel Jon from Winterfell, thereby securing Robb's birthright. Creating a reason for Ned to go somewhere he couldn't take Jon, knowing full well Cat would insist Jon couldn't remain at Winterfell. And that letter she got in her first POV had something to do with this, which is why Cat burned it before Ned could read it, despite it allegedly being written in a made up language and therefore impossible for anyone else to read and eliminating the need to destroy it.

i DO BELIEVE LITTLE FINGER IS SWEET ROBIN S FATHER
@lyannatargaryen32233 жыл бұрын
Lysa is so out of touch with developmental norms! Ha ha l, wow. I completely agree Sweet Robyn is Littlefinger’s son, that’s why she’s so protective of him, bc Lysa is in love with Littlefinger, and had to abort their first child. Although, I doubt we’ll ever get confirmation in the books. Also, when Littlefinger pretends Sansa is his bastard daughter in the Vale, it makes me wonder if that’s a parallel to him actually having a bastard in the Vale, Sweet Robyn. Then Sansa will come out as actually being the Lady of Winterfell, and Sweet Robyn being born a bastard but actually being passed off as a Lord’s heir. They have opposite stories.

I think George deliberately included that line because he knew Cat would become LS from the start. If I'm not mistaken, in his original outline Cat was supposed to die beyond the Wall after going there looking for Jon Snow to protect her. This wasn't stated but given that Cat went beyond the Wall, I assume Jon wasn't Lord Commander at the time she showed up so he couldn't help her (and yes, I believe Jon would've given her asylum despite how she treated him). I'm guessing that dying beyond the Wall would mean she'd get raised by the Others, and George knew he wanted the resurrection to happen, but decided there was more he could do with it than having her be a mindless wight. So he went back and wove in the various Lady Stoneheart foreshadowing. And he did so so masterfully that you could argue LS is who Cat always was on the inside; it just wasn't until much later that the flesh reflected the madness within (I'm an HP⚡ fan. Any chance I get to use a quote from it I take). It's my hope that because George's original plan was for Cat and Jon to have a reunion after all of House Stark's tragedy, that that reunion will still happen despite reformatting the original outline. It is almost crucial that it does occur because all of the tragedy that befell House Stark was the direct result of Catelyn scheming to permanently remove Jon from Winterfell. She should have a moment of reckoning for that, and I don't want her to rest until she does.

Can you please post link to any article or Reddit post about outline of her journey beyond the wall because its first time I'm hearing of this. I'd like to read more about it.
@ashleyofnaath3 жыл бұрын
@@tusharjoglekar I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I can't remember where I read this. I might've even seen it in an old interview. But I'd be happy to share other things that were in the original outline that I can remember. Joffrey was going to kill Robb during one of the iconic battles Robb has. Sansa was going to completely side with the Lannisters against her family afterwards because she has Joffrey's baby. Now, this was clearly changed in multiple ways, but we can still see the broad strokes of Sansa's original essence are the same--meaning she puts her own self interest ahead of her family's. Since GRRM kept that essence, it's my guess Sansa won't ever embrace her family the way we want her to. There was a love triangle featuring Jon-Arya-Tyrion. As part of this rivalry, Tyrion burns Winterfell. This won't happen in that specific iteration, but I think we could still see Jon and Tyrion in a less dramatic love triangle centered on Daenerys. Or, if the burning of Winterfell is part of the fall out from a love triangle featuring Jon, it could be Jon-Daenerys-fAegon. Or maybe that love triangle still happens but Winterfell is burned due to unrelated circumstances but all three parties are effected nonetheless. My bet is the later scenario, given that Winterfell burning has been foreshadowed multiple times in the story.

You can turn the narrative to say many characters were guilty of starting the war. But many things helped, and nobody is the sole reason. It's not even the fault of their mistakes, but other characters were actively trying to start a war. Littlefinger is out for revenge on the Starks, and he is the perfect Stark predator, because Cat sees him as a childhood 'brother'. Ned didn't start the war for figuring out Joffrey is a bastard and telling Cersei, and Catelyn definitely didn't for taking Tyrion prisoner. But even if you blame her, her reasons for taking Tyrion as prisoner is good, it definitely does not make her suck FOR ME.
