@@ClintsReptiles Hi, could you maybe include latin name of any species you are talking about in description? As english common name is not necessary of much use if I want to look at availability in my country (Poland) for example ;) While some random article told me you are talking about Heterixalus alboguttatus here (probably?) it would be helpful to have that clearly stated. Love your channel, keep up great work ^^

That's the main reason I watched this video. They are cute little guys. There is also a beautiful fish called a Starry Night cichlid. I have plans on getting at least one of them. When they're adults, they are jet black with little white spots like the night sky; such a striking fish!

@ryuk202

The best way to get them smashed is to dunk them in a shot glass. Humans can get a buzz by absorbing high proof ethanol through their skin (true story), so the effect on a frog would be orders of magnitude greater! It may also be fatal.
@malusignatius
@malusignatius 3 жыл бұрын
@@fredygump5578 Sadly, very fatal. A lot of the early type specimens from Australia were sent back to England pickled in rum. It's one of the reasons the Green Tree Frog (White's Tree Frog to those of you in the US) has the binomial 'Ranoidea caerulea'. The species part of the name (caerulea) is from the latin word for blue, which is the colour the frogs were after they got back to England. Nine plus months in rum had destroyed the yellow pigments in their skin, leaving only the blue colouration.

Thank you! This is not a comment on only this vid. I just subbed about 3 or 4 days ago. I have always been a reptile friendly guy. In the mid 80's I got a hydrosaurus for 40 bucks that I ordered from a petshop. My 8 yr old got an LB Beardie for his 7th birthday. He doesn't handle him much but he's good at it. Right now his claws are a little much for him LOL. It was great fun building the enclosure together.it 's 4x8, and we used styrofoam and spray foam to create all sorts of landscapes concrete tiles to keep his claws down. "Venom" is almost 2 now. But I digress, you seem to be very knowledgeable, competent and your info is well backed up. It has saved me from the confusion of the internet. Your reptifiles will be a great resource for everyone. I really enjoy your vids. just watched the giant centipede one, thanks for the nightmares, lol. My kid loves your channel too. We'll both be watching so keep em comin.

So just to put something... I was a big herp, then got more into fish for a decade. I think most herp keepers would benefit from learning the biomechanical disciplines of aquarium keeping. I often feel when looking at many herp oriented vivarium's like a radical opportunity is missed. We can do better than granting our animals "acceptable" water, we can give them really amazing water quality. And I feel like embracing these disciplines can create an extreme elasticity in the micro ecosystem to absorb the bio load of larger herpetological specimens and co-hab setups. I feel like the aquarium keepers have mainstreamed so many concepts only just becoming corner stones of the herp trade in the last half century. It started in aquarium trades 30 years ago. At any rate, love this channel, just wanted to drop that challenge or piece of advice or whatever it is. Cheers.
