It wasn't a poor decision. Children at a certain age at least should never be left alone, especially in large numbers. Use your brains people.
@terrarecon
@terrarecon 4 ай бұрын
@@sebastienseb919 Hmm, use your brain you say? First, let's clear something up. Nowhere in my OP did I even remotely suggest that the children should be left alone without adult supervision of any sort. Clark's teacher and his mother were all that were needed. His teacher could have called another qualified adult to attend her class while she dealt with this. All those kids swarming around him, whom he was trying to get away from, to quiet the noise and have peace, was a good idea, huh? Clearly, Clark had a problem, and the teacher was basically making it worse rather than helping him with her bad choice. Super hearing and vision or not, something is not normal, so just let's have the whole class push Clark into a corner and subject him to goofy, non-understanding mob kid behavior. It was still a poor decision, as I originally stated. If you are unclear, ask for clarity without false assumptions and then end your response with a condescending, snarky quip like you have it all figured out. Practice what you preach if you are going to suggest people use their brains.

There is absolutely golden cinemaphotography right here: a) One of the crew "saves" Clark from dying by pushing he back. (Yeah, Clark saw he coming and decided to fall over. If Clark would have just stood still, and not moved an inch like Superman would have, that sailor tried to rescue him would be dead or seriously injured.) b) Clarks smirk, when the sailor rescued him risking his life. Its a small but powerful moment when Clark realized humans are worth to save, after all his doubts.

@@Bucketdrummer it's vaguely alluded to that yes, they do need to be trained to use their incredible strength. The problem isn't just one of raw force, but in how that force is applied. Kryptonians in this series have a vague kind of gravity based power, which is what allows them to fly, it's also what allows them to be so much stronger than they should be. Control of this power comes naturally, but not quickly, and it takes effort to use it intentionally.

@@harisonwilfred7567 He made/directed Superman 2 back in 1980. He was replaced after shooting most of it, and that horrendous film became the theatrical release. The Donner Cut was subsequently released and was Donner's original vision, which first showcases Superman going up against General Zod and his comrades after they broke out of the Phantom Zone. Zack Snyder's Man of Steel is largely based on Donner's cut with the story with General Zod. The Donner Cut is an all time classic with some of, if not, the best superhero action put to film in that era.

Then some dude grabs the steel door keeping you in with his bare hands, crumples it like aluminum and tosses it aside, only to reveal that he's literally on fire and seems completely fine about it. Then, as you're boarding the helicopter, you see one of the massive towers of the oil rig about to fall on you and this dude just... catches it? how many hundreds of tons does that have to be and he just catches it?? Gun isn't interested in solo movies, he's going to try to make a buddy-movie for kids again. Solo movies in general collect less money with equal quality to other movies. With few exceptions.

I've always felt they should have upped the pacing on the helo pad a little. Current cut makes it feel that they could have gotten away from the falling steel if they weren't waiting to load Clark.

I love how it goes back and forth with his young and old self, trying to understand the world around him through the help of his mom and dad and boy that mother and child whale moment was incredible

This movie so elegantly shows the two sides of Clark Kent/Superman As Superman (Cape or not) a being so powerful and indestructible only his own doubts can slow him down or harm hin As Clark Kent he's coping with just being a normal, hurtable being, raised by good people to be a moralistic being The first moment he doffs the glasses is quite similar to the old superman movies where everyone knows he is Superman, yet anyone on screen won't recognize him beccause godlike beings don't need glasses

The coolest thing about that tackle scene? Supes used his telepathic powers to control the screenwriters into making it look like he could be pushed. That's how dedicated he was to looking like a normal human.

I am sure the dudes thought "we are dead and this must be hell" when they saw the door ripped by a man on fire. And when he jumped to stop the tower from falling, that was him jumping into the tornado to save his dad, finally he was ready! He was not going to let another die while he watched! Iconic scenes.
