Adam! Just wanted to say thanks man. I’ve been watching your videos this passed month as I geared up for a complete career change from the corporate environment as an ops manager to a storm chaser. I’m not pulling any punches when I say this, I used your guidance along with my training from Aspen Exteriors and within my first 2 days I signed 5 contracts!! Needless to say I’m shooting for 10 total by tomorrow. Thank you for all that you do with your channel. God bless

I just recently got introduce to roofs sales, I’m sorry my question really has nothing to do with this video (tho i loving these videos and taking many notes)but I notice you have a high response rate so.. how common is it really to find storm damage roofs? They say its a numbers game, but you got also gotta find the damaged roofs...
@TheRoofStrategist
@TheRoofStrategist 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Scott! Welcome to the channel. Great question. And yes, I respond to dang-near all the comments I see! (Every once in a while KZbin doesn't notify me - argh!). Anyhow, to answer your question... depends on where you are working. Hail is quite common in AZ and NM through CO all the way east to CT and PA. Some of the south east states see more wind damage than hail damage. Florida has more wind (and obviously hurricanes too). Norther markets (WI, MN, OH, IH, IL) see hail more than wind. At the same time, CA , WA, and OR don't see much (if any) damaging hail. So in a nutshell, severe hail/windstorms happen throughout most all of the US. Hail is widespread and can impact tens of thousands of homes at once. Finding the damage isn't difficult, because technology and software providers literally map out the areas that were hit. So all you need to do is go get eyes on it and start finding the best neighborhoods. More on that in my Scouting Series: kzbin.info/aero/PLZ20p_mXvgkWLEVlAyJEYN5N01qTgJ1Ds Hope this helps!!

You bet I do! A SAMPLE is included in the Marketing Battle Pack: www.theroofstrategist.com/storm-battle-pack Why a sample? Because I'm not a lawyer :) And state laws vary. Plus, they seem to change pretty rapidly! But using that as a sample will get you well on your way!

Hey Adam I signed a customer up and got done leaving and their agent called and told them not to do anything. They shut everything down at that point. I explained to them that he is not on their roof seeing what I saw but they sided with him cause they had been with their Insurance for years. What would you do in that scenario?
@TheRoofStrategist
@TheRoofStrategist 2 жыл бұрын
Woah. This sounds borderline criminal. I would personally contact the customer and find out why they cancelled? IF it's because the agent told them not to file a claim (assuming there's real damage on the home), I would report it to the state insurance commission.

Yes we had someone in the office who had this happened to him last week also. I would do exactly what Adam said. I personally wouldn’t contact the HO after that. I’m a firm believer in the philosophy of learning the hard way. If you don’t want to own your issues AFTER I show you proof, then it’s really on you whatever happens to you after that.🤷🏻‍♂️

so the thing that is killing me is the homeowner will let me do the inspection but it's always someone else has the insurance info, so I end up dealing with the wrong person to begin with.

Shoot! Quick fix: Ask early on (to qualify your prospect). Before I hop on the roof, may I ask what insurance carrier you have? -- If they can't answer, find out who is in charge :)

So as a potential customer I now know that tricks are being pulled on myself and others. Good to know!
@HailshieldRoofing
@HailshieldRoofing 6 ай бұрын
So you say tricks, but really - there is a need there, right? If someone has damage, there is that need. But it's still a dance. It's still a yes or a no - depending on how a customer feels, what they see, who they sense you are. So, you say "tricks", I say a sales method. I am not trying to argue with you but just trying to share how the good roofers and the honest roofers feel... Yes, there's a lot of shifty, shady guys out there and that's what is unfortunate! Very.

Always been curious… when a homeowner asks if I want something to drink, I say “sure, that sounds great! Thank you!” They say: “Ok, I’ve got this, this and that!” Do I want to be selective? Or should I say “whatever is easiest for you?” I know it sounds small, but being selective gives them the impression that I know what I want and I have a goal. That’s how I feel anyway. Any suggestions?

Adding to that, if they offer coffee or espresso, but it’s not made… take it? That, to me, says they are comfortable with you. True?
@TheRoofStrategist
@TheRoofStrategist 3 жыл бұрын
@@jeffdyrland2795 If they offer, you should accept it just like you would at a friend's house :) Doesn't matter if it's made or not. They want you to be happy and comfortable - that's why they offered. So take them up on it and express your gratitude :)
