I see what you mean about making the textures and blotting out some color with the paper towel. I could only see it when I saw the correct check and the wrong x right next to each other so I could see clearly how whiter and realistic the right way is, whereas the x cloud just looked too blue. 😊

Excellent tutorial. The colour mixing part was great, most youtube tutorials say "mix windsor blue with thingy yellow . . . " too specific. The thinking and details and reasons behind the doing is great.

Tip 3 works wonderfully if you follow directions and first dry your paint COMPLETELY! 'Bone-dry', not just a few minutes with the hairdryer ... (being impatient like me will give you a stormy sky) LOL, I bet a lot of people can picture what I've done ;)

Thank you Michele! I struggle with clouds, and this helped me so much. I never liked the blotting out clouds method because, as you say, they don't look natural. Great tip about leaving any "fluff" or hair until the painting dries; I always try to remove it right away, and usually mess up that area. Since my cat is always near me, this happens a lot. Have a blessed day Michele! ♥️💐♥️ Donna

Most people mess up skies by working on them too long. Try just quick bursts, then letting a layer dry before doing some more or changing colours.
@meeraahuja15942 жыл бұрын
Definitely a better technique. Thank you for sharing. Can we add yellow also (for the sunlight) in the white spaces?

The blotted version looked a bit more like a water surface than clouds, didn’t it. At least in the area that was blotted. Might have to experiment with that.
