As a metal fan I have been to countless large rock festivals. I have been in a sea of huge mosh pits, and when people fall, other people pick them back up. When the artists see crazy things going on or people being harmed, they will stop the show and urge people to help or stop erratic behavior so everyone is safe. I have never ever seen a show this dangerous and terrifying. So sad how it ended…

Bruce: I’m a pro touring musician and play for various artists. I cannot remember the last festival I’ve played where there wasn’t a center aisle safety barricade used to prevent crowd surges and give a clear path for emergencies in a general admission concert. Sometimes there’s even two. Stage right and stage left. It was surely mentioned by the OEM and fire marshals but management obviously declined it, which is their right. But I guarantee this will be the last festival without such a barricade. It could have saved 8 lives.

Frankly a defense lawyer is usually a far better person than a prosecutor anyways lol and never forget. Police officers have one of the highest rates of divorce and domestic violence of any profession, so let's not pretend simply "being on the right side of the law" makes someone a good person. The way that the barricades were set up in the mosh pit - with separate containers for crowds, meant that groups of people couldn’t escape. The got stuck inside their barricades as people from the outside pressed in. This was very dangerous stage design, and the reason for the crowd crush. Why did they set up the mosh pit this way? I heard that it was because the concert was streaming on Apple+ and Apple wanted clear lanes to do its filming, and they didn’t understand that everyone would crush into the mosh pits like they did.

Go look at images from other massive outdoor concerts and you won’t see an center barrier in any of them. Twice the people and no tragic ending because the crowd had somewhere to go. Here the crowd was funneled into essentially a coral and as people start jumping all that energy pushing slowly pushed them forward as they are jumping and led to the crush. Terrible design, negligence for days

Two weeks earlier, at another event at the same stadium there were problems with overcrowded areas, security problems, people trying to rush in and throwing metal barricades. Someone who was there later contacted the Stadium/Promoters and told them he was really surprised that no one was seriously hurt or even killed. This was 2 weeks before this festival.

I was in a crush situation at the doors of a concert years ago. The people in the back kept pushing forward until we in the front were being crushed. I am a petite female. I found myself being pushed along, feet off the ground but still upright, and I lost a shoe. I could feel it getting harder to expand my rib cage to get a breath. Suddenly, they opened the chained doors and the pressure was relieved. If they hadn’t opened the doors, I might have died. Large crowds are dangerous. Plan accordingly; best to avoid; calculate for bottlenecks, probabilities for surges, sexual assault, drugs, violence, bombs and fire.

He also likely cannot see that there’s people getting trampled, 50K is a huge group to pick out 8 from. Also, say he did stop the show midway, what would that do? The damage was done, he can’t control the stupid decisions of others. Yeah it happened at his show, but he’s very much not at fault for this one

The prob I have with Travis' statement is that if he doesn't want any of his fans to get hurt at a show then why would you ever say for them to engage in violence and that you want injuries from it? Plus injury can mean very diff things to diff ppl. For some it could mean just punching someone in the face, for another it could beating someone down with a 3 on 1, to another it could mean stabbing someone up. I mean a generic statement like that leaves the possibilities wide open and what kind of artist wants their fans injured or violent at a place where they're supposed to be providing entertainment to their most loyal followers and giving them an amazing memory to cherish. I honestly don't think he gives a damn about what happened and anything he says was instructed by his P.R. ppl and any "kind" gesture was at the prompting of his attorneys for damage control. I don't know the man so this is just my opinion, I may be way off base but his past judgement doesn't say much in his defense. The show should have been stopped BY HIM much sooner and anyone that engaged in standing on top of the ambulances dancing should be criminally charged. They may have contributed to ppl dieing because of delayed critical medical aide.

And in my view that apology was very suitable for the situation. you wanted him to cry ? wouldnt that seem more fake? ppl just wanted him to say if he is one responcible or not when he kept it official and was talking about those 8 people who died. do your full research on travis and not only negative/ cut videos u see on the internet. Correction, and you couldn't have known this at the time you recorded this, but the Houston Police Commissioner held a press conference today where he said the security guard that was allegedly poked with a needle turned out not to be true. That security guard did have head trauma, but he himself said he had not been poked with a needle. Aside from that, really thorough and interesting perspective on this incident. Travis Scott's past behaviour seems to suggest a pattern of recklessness, but this doesn't happen if there's better crowd control and better overall organization as well. Given that this was Travis Scott's concert, he bears responsibility for that too, but he's not solely responsible. I have a feeling there are going to be a lot of people facing lawsuits and maybe even criminal charges over this.

@Matt P good comment if trolling lol. Alex Jones is a great example of why you should evaluate claims individually case by case. A broken clock is right twice a day and so was Jones when it came to Epstein, the Clinton's ties to Russia. He's also been in the wrong ballpark completely with stuff like Sandy Hook. But what I said is a pretty common sentiment right now and I don't feel like I'm reaching to say it at least sounds suspicious. I try to always consider ulterior motives and possibilities because people can be really manipulative when they don't have to back up their claims with evidence.

It's interesting you interpreted his apology video as sincere and anguished. I think the majority opinion is that it seems like he couldn't care less in it and seems annoyed to even have to make it.

His apology is so obviously the weakest attempt at feigning true consideration. All of the context paints a pretty clear picture that he couldn't care any less about his fans.

@@BlairBryngelson it because you don't know travis. travis is socially awkward and does not really show his face or talk on social media. the main time the fans hear and see him is when he does music.

@@elijahgavin6706 idk if this means much but like as a long time Travis fan, he’s always been weird around cameras and in interviews. Idk everyone has a different way of interpreting traumatic events. No one can know if he was being genuine but I find it hard to believe that as a father and as a performer he didn’t feel remorse or regret for not stopping the show. But I guess people are bias and will form their own opinion regardless. I 100% know that if he was crying in that video, people would’ve still said it was fake and crocodile tears.

Doesn't make sense to me also how the medic was able to determine that that security guard needed narcan. They described it as him restraining someone then dropping to the ground suddenly, how did the medic know it was an OD? Seems to me that the police chief is covering his own ass because that concert should've been shut down by LE.

seems fishy, by the time the security guard felt a prick in his neck he would have turned around or something before the needle could have been emptied...also since its not in a vein it would have stung like fuck as soon as that plunger goes down

If you are ever looking for something a little different to react to I thought the song "Rapp Snitch Knishes" by MF DOOM might be something a little lighter yet still topical. Its an older rap song that is about people self snitching in rap songs, rather than doing any self snitching itself. Great song by a great artist and the featured rapper's true identity remains a mystery to this day! Maybe one of the few guys that actually could have done a little self snitching ironically enough. Worth checking out even if you never make a video on it, I think you'd get a kick out of it! Just wanted to suggest that since I got to this video relatively early.

MF Doom was one of the best underground rappers all time and only avid rap fans outside of New York ever heard of him. It’s sad. He’s one of the artists that prove it’s not about talent it’s who’s going to follow orders

Funnily enough he does actually self snitch in his song Doomsday "On Doomsday, ever since the womb ‘Til I'm back where my brother went, that's what my tomb will say Right above my government; Dumile" his real name was Daniel Dumile. It was released in 99
