If Maher learns to let his guests fully answer his questions before cutting them off right away, this could be a really good podcast. This is truly just two people hanging out in someone's cozy and comfy basement over drinks (and weed) getting silly together. No interview questions lined up, just goofy conversation. But Maher has got to let his guests finish their thoughts before interrupting; I bet that ability, though, will come with a little time, as he gets the feel of things. Good stuff! @BenjaminGolden-c5u6 ай бұрын
I am not married either and frankly the only thing that makes me wish I were is listening to Bill. I hope that I am not this inappropriate at his age. I am older than you and close in age to him. We change as we grow older but as I see it, Bill speaks of wisdom but demonstrates none. I also find his conversation as an old man grotesque. To offer an analogy, two men age 70 can go to the naked beach and start flirting with the girls. It's their life and they can do what they please. For most of us, however, we see that that shoe does not fit any longer--we have had our day and are on to a new one. Women age 70 can wear short skirts and low-cut shirts "showing off" their breasts. I think it looks grotesque, but they should do as they please. Like it or not, certain things are age appropriate and others or not. Bill appears on every level to be 25. At a certain point, it appears played out. He is in my view, the "old man at the beach." He thinks he is anything but that, but take away his fame and he is just that. I have enjoyed him for years and still do, but he is beginning to weird me out like when I run into the occasional high school friend and am shocked that they haven't changed. Just sayin' To each his own.

My favorite Tarantino film after Pulp Fiction was "Four Rooms." I actually have it on video tape, and keep a VCR so I can watch it occasionally - a lot of people say they aren't familiar with it but if you've never seen it, I highly suggest watching it. It's a comedy and features cameo appearances by Quentin himself, Bruce Willis, Madonna, Antonio Banderas, David Proval, Jennifer Beals, others. It stars Tim Roth and is a great, entertaining movie.

I am the same age and a big fan of Bill. I was also the guy who wrote the software where Quentin worked, Video Archives. I was hired by Dennis Humbert to help their software guy, Andy Blinn to finish the software in BASIC running on a TRS-80. He was a very nice guy and I was going to do it for free. However he was more of an artist than an engineer and asked me to take over. I did and wrote it in UCSD P-system. But the inventory and customer base was already in his software, which wasn't working, yet. So I soldered up an adapter and asked Andy to transfer that info to my device. Usually we watched movies there after closing, but I knew Andy would be too distracted by that, so I locked him in telling to break the window if fire breaks out and took the crew across the street to a bar where I bought them tequila shots. I don't recall if Quentin worked that day or not. Andy is no longer with us as he had Cystic Fibrosis, but he is certainly in my memories, he was a really good guy. Then I came up with ideas like context sensitive help and Quentin came up with ideas such as Reservoir Dogs (he did some French Bakery thing with Brian De Palma, before, I think). I signed Reservoir Dogs guestbook with something like: "I reprogrammed your brain with my software and I claim all credit for your future successes". I am glad he is doing well. I never see him, I see Roger Avary every now and again, though, (including Andy's memorial service) he lives in China for most part, I think. What is up with Quentin's hair being all black?

He kept interrupting Tarantino, before QT could even finish speaking his thoughts. Followed by Bill climbing furniture, “what were we talking about again” and reenacting lines from Casablanca and Gone with the Wind. I think you need to check out some other podcasts because I can think of several that are much more entertaining.
