It is my opinion that these very good quality Type 4C Hair videos (made by people with Type 4C Hair like yours) highly represents what ALL people with Type 4 Hair goes through with keeping a styled look by preventing knots and tangles. This applies to myself and all of those with Type 4 Hair (yes, including with myself being one with Type 4A Hair). I used to follow some of these techniques as a child for I had very little tools, supplies, and assistance in doing my own hair so it would get extra dry and coarse. This is quintessential knowledge and a guide of reference (for us all who possesses Type 4 Hair) to having healthy hair.

When I delay detangling my hair too long, I get locs in training! My hair will loc for no reason at all. Be careful with delays. Plus, if you have rugged 4c hair like mine, thoroughly wet your hair, then seal with oils like avocado and then castor, not always coconut oil.
@RozeBeauty3185 жыл бұрын
Delayed detangling is the best. Literally just took out my box braids and didn't finish until I nighttime. Instead of lazily detailing and risk damaging my hair, I did a low manipulation style and will save my detangling until wash day. Also, you really helped me understand my shed hair better in this video. I had so many straggly ends when I took my 3 month old braids down but it makes so much since if the shed hair didn't have anywhere to go for months. Thanks for sharing. 😊

Ok, I LOVE THIS!!! I'm not so great at the French braid simply bcuz it's not my go-to. However, my hair is so freaking long and I'm needing to have a quick night time routine to adjust to having thick, long hair. I used to do super-micro twists for years, and now I'm actually also going to try doing thicker twists like you're doing, to be more casual with my styles (doing my own hyper-micro twists is a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng process!). Thanks so much. Love your channel and IG. :-)

ACV is an astringent. Meaning it removes moisture from whatever it comes into contact. Have you ever considered trying a water / 100% aloe vera juice combination for your nightly routine instead?
@NaturallyHigh5 жыл бұрын
Lisa Walker, Psy.D. Hey! My use of ACV in this video was a total accident. I had wanted to just use water so I poured liquid from my drinking bottle into my spray bottle. It turns out I had been drinking ACV water. Since ACV doesn’t affect my hair badly, I used this mixture but feel free to use aloe juice. The acidity of ACV promotes closure of the cuticle, which could help the hair stay moisturised. It was at a very low concentration as well, around 5%, so it didn’t have a noticeable drying effect. I have used Aloe juice in the past. I’m also a fan of that.

@NaturallyHigh5 жыл бұрын
You do too! That’s helpful though! At least you know for sure that they’re shed. I sometimes leave them dangling as a ‘buffer’ since I know my ends will knot up anyway and I may as well let the shed hair do it. 🙊Was going to mention that too but thought it might be too extreme for some people. With your blond hairs, this ‘buffering’ method could work really well. Your ends would kind of be like telomeres on the end of DNA 🧬 which prevent the main part of the strand from being damaged.

@@NaturallyHigh thank you for reading my comments and taking time to give them thought. It means a lot to see when you tubers listen to their subscribers and try to accomodate the needs for all different lengths etc. Looking FWD to all your upcoming offerings. I've ended up just cornrowing my hair straight back in basic cornrows for now and plan to keep them in as long as possible and take what I can from your videos to help retain any length and low manipulation. So for now, it will be keeping the ends extra moisturised, and I will dapply a spray leavein mixed with oils every other day at night to keep my hair hydrated and moisturised. The odd water rinse in the shower (no rubbing), and/or just applying a watered down mixture of shampoo to my hair and just patting it on a light scalp massage to clean scalp, same for deep conditioner just patting it into wet cornrows, rinse and moisturise, then cover with silk scarf to dry and reduce any frizz. I'm keep my hair covered with a satin cap and wearing a hat or wrap most of the time. I believe the plaited clumps will be coming next once I get the full grasp. Thank you for acknowledging me.
