Kim, just go ahead and get a couple of the IKEA shoe storage cabinets for the wall and put them up under the hooks you just remounted. Then you can have a place for the shoes to go and hooks for your purse. If that is your dropping spot for that type of thing, then make it work better for you. Still have plenty of room for your brooms etc. Have a great day!

My dad hung wallpaper for a living and unfortunately just getting it wet doesn't work. You do have to buy a wallpaper paste. You put that on the back of it kind of be generous with it then you hang it. It will take two people to hold it up to put on the wall. He taught all of us four girls to paint and hand wall paper. I just hung some in my tiny house and i love it.

We used to have a (adult only halloween party every year, we don't have kids) but life just got in the way the last few years. But, this year we are having one! I'm so excited to decorate! I have a ton of decor but have bought some new really cool decor for this year! Our party isn't until the weekend after Halloween but I'll be decorating 2 weeks before because it takes me so long.

Hi Kim! I learned a life changing tip from a friend years ago… do 1 load of laundry per day! If you have a delay on washing machine you can throw it in the night before & set to wash the next morning 😁👍

Yep…. If I wake through the night I just start thinking and worrying. Nothing ever gets solved because I’m not thinking clearly. Usually by the time I get up in the morning I’m stressed and panicking until I calm me self down and get on with life. Sometimes I turn my audible on with the timer and try to focus on the book instead of slipping into thinking zone.

Hi Kim! We also use the basket system for our family in the laundry room. We have four boys, and like you, I keep baskets in the laundry room for them. I sort the clothes right out of the dryer into the baskets. I just do a quick one-two fold so it doesn’t wrinkle, throw it in the appropriate basket and move on. I would leave towels/and such on the counter if I’m not walking towards that area. Then I just tell the kids their basket is full and to empty it. Because I have boys, this was/is a great way to tell me which kid hasn’t been showering. 😂 you’re doing great and the rhythm will come in time.

Hi Kim. Maybe in your closet drawers spray paint the drawers black or something and cut black poster board and add to the fronts, or put up a curtain rod and hang a curtain on front to hide the items if you really dont like seeing it when you open the door.

Kim, get a pretty scrapbook paper and tape it to the inside of the front of the drawers in your under the stairs closet. It will be fast and cheaper than buying new drawers. Pull in the color of the drawers with paint. You could paint a few stripes in the closet, or large flowers to match the pink color. Have Eleanor help you. A few large hibiscus or other flowers would be beautiful on the interior closet wall.

Yep I taught myself by measuring with a cup/spoon, then holding it if possible. Now I can hand measure very accurately. I think some people are good at estimating volume with their eyes though, and some are not. I’m also good at picking a Tupperware for leftovers 😂

I've always been a light/interrupted sleeper and taking magnesium before bed has quite literally changed my life. The morning after I first took it I told my husband that I didn't know humans were capable of that deep of a sleep. But I also have had kids come in with nightmares or needing water and have no problem waking, helping, and returning to sleep.

Hi Kim, Laundry (mind games) tip. Pull all the towels out of the pile, put them on the machines behind you, unfolded and then sort the much, much smaller pile of clothes. Then the easy towel folding is the last thing you do. Trick the laundry into a smaller project! 😂 Yes, I do this.. !

Hi Kim. As a young widow can I suggest that if you are able to offer your time to do things for Alex's friend, I'm sure it will help during this really horrible transition phase. While the meals are lovely, they become overwhelming and the freezer becomes overloaded which becomes another stress point of overwhelm. xoxo

When my kids were younger and at home (before they did their own) I did each persons laundry a load at a time. It was much easier for me to keep up with and put away. Once my kids were old enough they did their own laundry during the summer since they had more down time. During the school year I did it because they were busy with school and activities. Also during the summer each one was in charge of planning and cooking dinner once a week. A great way to teach them skills and takng things off your plate.
