This young man is very smart with his money. His rent is reasonable, his grocery bill isn't too high, he built his own business, and he actually gives back! He's smart, successful and kind. And he lives way below his means, so it's fair to say he's humble and doesn't see money as a way to show off. It's amazing when people aren't focused on materialistic things, but rather wish to help others. He's a nice and empathetic person. I wish him all the very best.

donations done to large non profits or foundations is a waste. over 90% of the money is used for overhead and the remaining is used towards the cause. if you still want to donate only donate direct to someone in need.

Just before this video blows up: For Cambridge, 825 in rent probably means he lives in a three bedroom with 2 other roommates and it definitely doesn't include electricity. That house he walked out of in the beginning is a 2 or 3 family and it would probably sell for at least 1.7m+ in the current market depending where in Cambridge it is.

I'm a financier and YES, non-business people get quite upset and surprised when I openly talk about money. It's a finance thing, all my business- and finance-trained friends are perfectly fine talking about money, their personal financial decisions, their problems, etc. Others get weirded out.

It’s an American culture thing, people are bashful talking openly about finance. Well, I think it’s also a class thing. Rich people don’t have an issue with the subject because how else to become rich otherwise? It’s completely normal in Asian culture to talk about money.

@@jacklu1190 my father is relatively well off, my family never talks about how much we make in-front of others. If you ask about his company investment he will tell you but never our income. He doesn't have to tell you , you can see how big his offices are and how many people he employs. My mom always told me to be humble. Yes it is completely" normal" to talk about it in our culture but it always turns into gossip. it always starts off with how much your husband makes? WHAT CAR DO YOU DRIVE? WHAT IS the PRICE OF YOUR HOUSE? How much is in his bank account? then the Chinese relatives gossip the heck out of someone's income because their income indicate their worth. It is quite disgusting. Most guys can't even get married without a house and a car in china, how is this positive? . Even my friends won't stop talking about other people income in a gossipy way not in a positive way. When i first got married the first question was always, how much dose your husband make? where did he get his degree? DId he buy you a home? what car did he buy you? Is this really positive? They never ask other qualities. I prefer the west. This is the reason I never tell any of my Chinese relatives my income, my asset. Then they come to you for " loans" . Most Chinese not only talk about it but they brag about it or round UP their income. I basically know every single income of my mom's friends' kids because their parents tells you 10 seconds after sitting down at the dinning table.

I bring home roughly 2k a month. Rent is 500 a month(I live with roommates in a college town) Entertainment, gas, insurance, phone are about 700/month. I was lucky enough not to take out a bunch of money for student loans, but I try to pay back 400/month. So I'm able to save 400 a monthish. I dont drink or eat out as much as I used too. I learned to cook which helped me save. I think what's important is setting up a budget and seeing where you can cut your spending so you can live the best life you can with your income.

If everyone is asking just for information it is 100% fine, believe it or not some people ask for the wrong reason. esp mortgages is a good indication of someone's income. Some people actually gossip about other people's income/ spending habits and mortgages. Not hard to see it, just look a the comment section below. I rarely disclosed the prices I paid for my homes not even to my relatives because they often gossip about other people's home prices / income. They LOVE To talk about it. First thing they asked me was how much my husband made a year. I told them enough to keep us alive. With glass door / rental listing websites, zillow it is not hard to find out the average information. For those who are actually buying homes etc I told them when they asked, like my friends who were going through the process etc. Other people asking out of " curiosity" I just don't share any of that information , I also don't like disclose my asset. Even till this day my father , in laws dose not know how many houses we own. They don't know how much we make either. I also don't know how much they make

This guy is honestly a god. Back when I was in school ages ago, I couldn't imagine life without tutors, especially for the tougher subjects and for placement exams. These days, tutors are cheaper and more abundant than ever!

I'm from the city of boston and I can tell you this. It's expensive. I make roughly around 80k ( give or take) as a real estate agent and it's really crazy. The biggest thing that help me when it came to money management was working at the bank and seeing first hand how people spend there check and the struggles that some people goes through to make ends meet. It was an eye opener. Promise myself that I will never go down certain routes when it comes to spending. Luckily, I was fortunate to invest in areas that I see that I could improve. Money management. It has help me so much.

Asking rent is not a weird question. It's just a difficult question to ask as people are on autopilot when handling personal finances. So explaining someone else their expenses is a reality check and that scares people so they act weird about it. it's their way of defending their bad habits.

I lived in Medford, MA for over 2 yrs and I had missed living on my own. It is tough to find a studio at a good price in Boston so I ended moving about 40 mins outside Boston to Hudson, MA and my studio was $750. I had loved living on the out skirts especially from the day to day hussle.

Wow i absolutely loved this video. I also lived in Boston and used to tutor there. But i ended up getting homeless and having to go to a shelter. I used to charge $20/hour which seems like a lot but when u take the train both ways and then only tutor 1.5 hrs it's really worth worth it. Also i tutored a guy at mcphs for a long time. I tutored him for 4 hrs one day and he said he forgot his money so i said no prob u could give it to me later. But i had been tutoring him for his finals so he didnt need me anymore..and disappeared without paying me. So...my point is im a horrible businesswoman.

Good dude. When I was 25 I was making min wage and blowing all of it and then some on the bar. It got me off to a rough financial start in my 30s when I could've been buying a house.
