I'm also a Software Engineer who didn't attend college. Crazy thing is it's still an opportunity anyone who is disciplined in learning can do with out a degree. There are so many unfilled jobs in tech for engineers also. Glad I started learning to code albeit at 28 now I'm 30.... but, it's still easily the best decision I've made in my life.

All right so I’ll get a little bit of context to everyone who is curious. He works for a company SADA, which is local to California and extremely close to Los Angeles. California has extremely high cost of living so typically a $200,000 paycheck in California is roughly 130 in most locations in the country. What makes a situation unique is that his company gave him the opportunity to work exclusively remotely while they still pay them the same base California rate. Just for context nurses in California out of college make $120,000, People with a bachelors degree in business, no experience are likely to make over six figures plus stock in place like San Francisco to make up for having to work a job in a high cost of living location. To have the opportunity to work remotely while getting paid exact same as a blessing. What I do, at my level a job in Los Angeles or San Francisco would pay nearly doubled with stock. This is why I exclusively apply to jobs like this and other remote jobs in California.

As a fellow Sales Engineer, he's definitely edging the top of the earning bracket for the field at the young age of 22. That's super impressive. However, it's important to take care of not only your finances but your health as well. One meal a deal just isn't healthy and sustainable long term. Intermittent fasting is a great temporary solution, but you have to treat your body like an engine and provide it the proper fuel to run; i.e. veges, carbs, proteins, vitamins, etc.

Killing it! Now that your income exceeds the Roth limits it’s a great time to read up on back door Roth contributions. Can still take advantage of getting an additional $6k per year into a Roth! Also check if your employer offers after tax contributions which would block a mega back door Roth! Only other advice I would have is check out the book ( or audio book since you will be on the road) “Die with Zero”. As someone who odds also very frugal naturally the book gave me a good framework to better value spending on experiences which like your investments will comping over time.

I was telling her that I like her outfit and that purple is my favorite color.
