Social media is separate from government so it has no jurisdiction. Free speech in this case is whatever you wanna make it. So social media have done things like actual policy and regulations regarding what can be said. It's still free speech , but there's at least a guard rail. Elon musk is in favor of dropping that guard Rail from his platform.

I doubt you can have a social platform that is 100% positive. Example: People will post negative stuff just to fish for sympathy. If you want a 100% positive environment you need to stop people from doing that, which comes back to censoring and silencing people. X has community notes now which i think is a good move forward. Anyone can fact check and counter fact check. There are always more than one way to look at a fact. Bluesky has Block and Delete. So innovative.

No, not the best thing. we have come so far after being connected in our global society! THE biggest red flag are those that mistake free speech with typical decency.... Such as commenting on the heavily immoral actions people can do. As a society, I thought it wasn't okay to conspire to murder, and it is just regular freedom of speech to these disillusioned people. THREATENING is also not protected under freedom of speech. Something that directly can lead to an act of violence or illicit behavior is not okay, but how do we get this through to someone stuck in their delusion?
