I’ve always done my over grip the same way! The tapered end is at the top, and I don’t cut off any excess! 😎😎😎👍👍👍

Always have done it that way - as Chris says it looks neater and there's no cutting. Uses the whole thing. Thanks for confirming the "right way."

I do it this way too but without making a knob at the start. Finish at the top. Great for two handed backhands

Saw this a couple of years ago on your channel. Loved it then.

The Wilson Pro overgrips are designed for the taper end at the bottom as they have glue on the taper end and include the finishing tape. You don't need to cut the grip so that it also tapers but it can look neater. It also won't leave that leather gap.

So are all other brands. I’ve doing Chris’s way for a long time now as it is much quicker and neater looking.

There's no wrong way to apply your overgrip. I also do it Coach Chris's way.

I prefer to wrap my overgrip the other way that Coach Chris had shown, folding the overgrip at the start. Had to switch to this b/c the most recent packs of Wilson Pro's have come up 1-2 inches shorter than the stock grip.

Interesting, I've never done it this way.

That's how I put my overgrips as well. Only issue is the branding or wording of some overgrip will appear upside down. Which can be annoying.

Im surprised it doesn’t bother tennis players when they grip their rackets without falling into the grooves of the replacement grip.. it doesn’t feel smooth or it feels like there’s bumps underneath the over grip and you loose feel of the edges of the handle.
@tijgertjekonijnwordopgegeten10 ай бұрын
My replacement grip feels like it's flat, so it doesn't matter where on the grip it falls.
@kyzersoze.musicology9 ай бұрын
@@tijgertjekonijnwordopgegeten not the first replacement grip… I’m referring to the OVER GRIP that goes over and around the main grip. So many people just wrap it without falling the lines of main grip and it turns out all uneven and bumpy.
@sebastiandomagala923310 ай бұрын
This is not rocket science. Overgrips have a sticky end for the start and finishing tape for the end.

How many rehashes of the same topic is this channel going to produce? There’s no such thing as a “secret” or “pro’s” way of putting on an overgrip, just because Harry has never thought of it.
@tijgertjekonijnwordopgegeten10 ай бұрын
I agree that there is no "secret" way but you've got to give the other way of doing it a name so you might as well call it the "pro's" way.

@@bengray5013how are they doing it?
@bengray50139 ай бұрын
@@aw5919 well firstly a lot of pros don't put their overgrips on, they get their coaches or team to do it for them, for those that do most are putting them on with the tapered end at the buttcap (especially sponsored players), but it aoso depends on the grip they're using (for example tourna grip which is very popular among many pro players don't have tapered ends...
