What coaches got to remember is Coach Prime is not just a part of SWAC, he's serving SWAC and all of the HBCUs. He's putting a long needed spotlight on HBCUs. Many people asked why Deion? what are u doing this for? That there are bigger and better opportunities out there for you (and there are). But Prime had a mission, to put HBCUs on the big stage and its working. So let's not make it about ourselves, let's make it about these talented kids. Prime is far from perfect but he's trying to deliver a message to the world that HBCUs can ball and many will benefit from that. So let's not shoot the messenger!

HBCU Games are played every week on one of the Local Stations here. That wasn't happening before Deion became Coach at JSU. Hell, their Games are making it to ESPN Networks now. The only time you really saw any HBCU Game is when Grambling and Southern play on NBC every year.

Coach Prime is moving in a way God is allowing him to reach and make a difference in young black men changing the narrative of black young athletic men and a minimized organization. And his children being apart of JSU is only a golden nugget God is reassuring that he completes the task that only he is called to do. So let's say this coach was a supporter for 10 (TEN) lifetimes. What Coach prime has done in two years STILL OUT NUMBERS ANY CONTRIBUTIONS this coach could have made. SO LET US COUNT THE WAYS!!! Since Coach Prime came to the SWAC, the city has announced that Prime's presence has brought over 30 million dollars into the City. And that's just for one year! The SWAC now appears on ESPN major channels. NFL Coaches are now paying more attention to ALL SWAC teams and Deion is calling them out to visit their practices; and they come! They were not doing that before the arrival of Deion. And very importantly to me, I didn't even give any bits of a damn about College Football before Coach Prime. Now people who wouldn't even normally watch football are watching. Coach Prime has brought in a whole other league of viewers. So if Deion dropped out tomorrow, his contribution has been far more to the SWAC than this coach can deliver in many life times. Whether you say Deion is selfish (which you can't be totally selfish and do as great of a job as he has in team building) or not, what has to be admitted is that his contribution to the SWAC has been EFFIN GREAT! And he should be commended.

I can relate to what he said. his father coached Grambling for fifty years or more so he grew up in the swac.then played in the swac. He's a swac. Those black players that made it to the NFL take it personally because they had to prove themselves a little more harder than if you came from a D1 football schools. So they had to prove to those D1 pro players that they were just as good or better. Think about they had to be bused to all the games and the amount of racism they had to go through. Not being able to stop in certain towns. Having to stay and eat at certain places. Especially during the years he played. Prime played for bobby Bowden was on national TV flying to game getting booster money staying in the best hotels eating at the same restaurant as white people. He always talks about how poor they were but he showed up on campus wearing jewelry worth thousands. Fresh clothes and shoes. I'm quite sure that coach Eddie didn't have it as bad as some of his teammates. but he still went through the same things they did. I'm quite sure that prime played for FSU because they have him the most money. nil deal takes away from these the big time schools they don't have to rely on the boosters. They can sign their own deal.

I'm OK with him not wanting to "hug it out" however, it could have been handled differently than the action he displayed. My biggest issue, is the derogatory remarks made by ASU players as Coach Prime was walking the field. The "F**k Deion Sanders" and the "Ho ass ni**a" etc. comments made by ASU players, were not only disrespectful, but totally uncalled for and deserves to be handled with disciplinary action. Sadly, there's not much you can do when the fans call out derogatory remarks, but you can certainly do something about it when your players exude that type of behavior on the field towards an opposing coach. Coach Robinson stating that "He ain't SWAC" should have reserved that comment for some of his own players, who actually showed that THEY aren't SWAC! And not handling it, only shows that he isn't (SWAC) either🤷🏿‍♂.
