Thank you. It's taken 15 videos to get to this point but now I know the extent of the damage in this engine. It's pretty ruined.

Would you say it is better to scrap the engine and fit a later model or rebuild? My daughter’s 308 ep6 motor overheated after a coolant pipe failed. Now we have gasses in the cooling system.

Sadly these engines have so many issues I wouldn't like to try and advise.

@ so best to fit a later model engine? Where it had various upgrades?

@@seanfenwick I don't really know a lot about them hence taking one apart to try to better understand why they were so fragile. I'd hope they had improved them in later years but sadly I wouldn't know.

As I understand this engine is direct injection so the intake valves get no passive cleaning from fuel mixture passing over them. Were the intake valves really badly clogged up with carbon? I would have been curious to have seen a view from the cylinder head intake port looking in towards the valves.

They weren't chocked too badly as this engine had only done 63k but they were building up with tar.

@@simonshurety3870 happened a lot to this cars. Think oil service every 6,000 might have helped a lot with these.

I know the timing had slipped when I got it and wasn’t running. I managed to correct the timing and get it going but it then destroyed itself while sat outside just ticking over. I think the vacuum pump starved of oil causing exhaust cam to seize which might explain the exhaust valves being damaged and then it locked up dead.

Hello,i have a problem whit a peugeot 207cc 2007 1.6 vti 120 hp. The car was parked for 2 years ,the engine starts but not so easily, and it won't rev more than 2000-2500 rmp. The codes that i could read are: P1057 - variable valve lift system supply P1015 - variabel valve lift system fault (power part of the motor relay)limp home position not reached If u have any ideea please advise me ,because i don't seem to find anyone wiling to work on this engine in my country. Thanks

Also, the oil and all filters are new,new gasoline and the engine was prepared before first start

Have you tried giving the car a fresh oil change as the engines are sensitive to dirty oil.

@@CoatsandGaiters the car has fresh oil,I did change the oil 2 times after the engine run for around 30 minutes.

@@Mano-zx3js as you can see I didn’t have much luck with mine. I did some earlier videos when i got it running 2 years ago but it soon destroyed itself.
