Great choice on Parts/Exhaust Matt. I personally think it sounds fantastic for this application. People complaining about it are the same people that believe a mustang should be nothing other than a V8 so you're never going to win in their eyes and ears. Keep on doing your thing my man.

+Erfahn H If you properly designed and built an unequal length header for this Mustang it'd sound similar to a Subaru with the "boxer rumble" lol. A Subaru with an equal length header sounds like any other 4 banger for the most part.

As far as turbo inline 4s go that's about as good a sound as you can get. I hope he's still using that tuner he was working with and not just using the off the shelf Cobb Stage 3. Kudos to Cobb for sponsoring Matt!

I had to take the crash bar off to get my race intercooler in. I also had to disconnect my active shutter system from the grill. To make it fit. Quick tip, just take the active shutter motor off the unit and zip tie it behind the bumper. Leave the active shutter unit off, it won’t fit anyway so don’t lose your mind trying. Reconnect the little motor only. This way you won’t get any engine codes for disconnecting it.

How would you say it compares with the stock V6 Camaro now that it's stage 3? Comparing the 2 cars. I love the sound that 3.6 makes but I know it's probably way more limited in what you can do to it.

If you just listen to the sound and didn't know what car it is, I would guess a WRX or some other Subaru.. but its a mustang so really its the best of both worlds for subaruwrxfan for having a mustang but Subaru like characteristics

is your mustang registered in Allegheny county? if so how do you deal with the emissions inspection with the tune and downpipe? id be ok with taking the car back to stock tune but id rather not put the old pipe back on year after year for nonsense inspections.

similar set up here - went with Borla/FR exhaust - StainlessWorks DP - JLT 5" CAI - SCT V2 tune. Impressive #s per above ...these cars really do jump up in power, especially in the mid/upper tach ranges when opened up. The sound of the engine is similar, mine does sound deeper however. Folks, it's a 2.3L 4 cylinder - big 4 cylinder motors sound good in the 3-6k rpm band, but below that it's a fart can. Taking the resonator out adds power, but also makes the sound louder too. Mine included. Still great cars ...the exhaust should actually sound smoother once you get 10-15k on the new system.

i think its cool that ford went ecoboost on the mustang i just think they chose the wrong engine, the 2.7 or the 3.5 v6 would have been a great platform, the 3.5 makes over 400hp just with bolt ons and tune, serious potential. the 2.0 makes serious power but its not cheap getting it.

He did the smart thing buying an ecoboost then modding it. Lot of people say he should’ve bought a gt instead but then who would watch the videos? The gt is cool, but unless you dump a load of money into the car it isn’t really interesting too watch. That’s why your here instead of watching a chad drive around a stock gt, Not to mention, he gets these items for free or deep discount, and he reviews them making him money.

Sounds very similar to my MS3 with CP-E Triton exhaust (not surprising since the engines are similar as well - both made by ford but the Mustang has a much more advanced head I'd expect), my tone is a bit deeper though, especially at idle. Can't really say I dislike the sound but it seems out of place on a Mustang, even the old SVO didn't sound like that. I personally prefer the boat in the water sound of the mod motor mustangs over this and the coyote platform.

That rule doesn't apply to a turbocharged car. After the exhaust goes though a turbo you want the least amount of restriction possible.

For most people, why not use the money for the upgrades and buy the Mustang GT? You get a full warranty, I doubt your car is covered by Ford. In Canada , if I performed the same mods my insurance would not cover me, I know because I asked.
