Tammy I just finished making your recipe for coconut cream pie probably about 2 hours ago probably about 7:00 and be ready to be 8:00 I can't wait to dig into it I'm from Rome Georgia and and I live in Texas that people in Texas they really don't know how to cook and I'm still from the deep South just like you are you're from college but you living in somewhere close to Florida now but anyway if I want a recipe that I don't have a cookbook anymore I'll go to yours and I don't think that I wasn't sure was the amount of the cornstarch to put in but anything else I'm pretty much on my own I just have to refresh a little bit cuz I don't cook that much anymore but that's what's for a dessert tonight coconut cream pie thanks for your recipe.

I haven’t had it with the coconut toasted and put in the pie but I’m going to try it , I don’t like meringue but yours looks amazing I will just stick with whip cream on top of my coconut pie . Started out watching. Sour cream raisin pies. Then I bumped into you with the coconut pie There are no more little mommy pops shops that make pies around me. Honest-to-God I gotta Travel 40 miles to go to a Perkins. To have a piece of pie and guess what they don't have your pie or sour cream Raisin. My god I just want to eat a piece of pie. Do you know if you can use a plastic batter bowl and plastic bowl for beating the egg whites

I wouldn't risk having any traces of oil in a plastic bowl--they often have little cracks or scratches in them that retain oils. This will prevent the egg whites from whipping up. It would be safer to just start with a really clean glass or metal bowl and beaters. Just make sure the plastic batter bowl is microwave safe. Never microwave melamine.
