Look, I'm not gonna lie, I hate cops, and I hate the institution of the police. But, whatever institution that would replace actual policing for the publics safety should look like this. Like there's no reason with real training, a change in police mentality, functionality, structure, accountability etc, that these gentlemen couldn't fill that role. This could be a excellent t example of how police should operate when restructured in a way that eliminates racism, corruption, immunity, and abuse of authority. These guys handled this situation extremely well, and did a valuable le service by getting this person out safely and protecting the public from her disgusting reckless disregard for people. She clearly has a problem, and I feel for that. But this is absolutely criminal. Glad she's caught. Good job guys

This cop is what all cops should aspire to be he knew she was drunk immediately and still handled the situation professionally and treated her like a human making a bad decision rather then a less then human Edit: Thanks for all the likes, skimming through the replies is hilarious, “she could have killed someone” is a decent point to make but in reality those same people probably praise our veterans who have literally killed people while on drugs that the military provided. Just look into what substances allied soldiers were taking during WW2 and Vietnam if you don’t believe me. The saddest thing is nobody even thought about being concerned that she could have killed herself too that would be just as much a tragedy and if you don’t think so maybe you should do some self reflection and find out why you value one life over another even in a hypothetical sense.

I'm retired now but, since I was 17 I was a nurse of one sort or another. Started at the bottom, baptized by fire & worked my way up. I was told my an old WWII Army nurse, they are scary tough take no bs, that I'm a natural & need to go to school. I modeled myself after her & my mom. I got top 5 in my class every time & I was able to apply the book learning to real life...some cannot. It came very easy to me. I always treated my patients with respect. I was their defender, protector as well as their nurse. I managed to earn their respect & trust. I worked with pediatrics, geriatrics, criminally insane, ER, developmentally disabled. The kids was the hardest. Sometimes I took my break behind the building so I could cry. I saw this annoying drunk lady & though I couldn't be that cop bcuz I'd clobber her. Then I remembered, I had patients more annoying than her & never ran out of patience. I don't know how I did it! I don't feel special at all but, it does take a special person to be a GOOD cop, nurse, 1st responder. It's not an easy job, it's a very thankless job, under paid & under appreciated. I ALWAYS maintained a professional attitude, gained my patients respect & trust bcuz I was always honest & stayed true to my word & I also busted my ass to make sure every patient I ever had was treated with respect & dignity. This cop stayed calm, honest, polite & this is exactly how you need to be. If you get angry or emotional, it will make your night go much worse. That drunk lady was bad but, she could have acted out worse if that cop didn't act professional & show her as much respect as possible. Professionalism! You have to act like a professional if you want to be treated like one. Sadly, that concept escapes too many.

DUI’s are terrible. While separated from my wife and daughter due to army issues. 6 months away. I got a DUI. Worst decision of my life. I haven’t drank since. And am getting my life back together. I immediately enrolled to get help and quit all substances. It was my first time ever getting in trouble with the law. And i feel absolutely terrible about it. I was in a very dark place. And my TBI’s and PTSD was only making it worse. And i wasn’t given the help i was pleading for. And so i said poor me. And started drinking. Weeks later i was on a binge and woke up in my truck to a cop knocking on my window. They were amazing. They asked what’s going on with my life. I vented to them. They gave me a hug. Gave me my DUI ticket. And then took me home. Once i got sober and finished the withdrawals i went and spoke with the officer and thanked him. I’m still sober to this day. And am more successful and happy than ever. It was 100% my fault. And i take full responsibility. I’m just happy it was my first time and i was able to catch myself before going down the path this woman seems to be going down.

I went through a period struggling with drinking, when you're at the point your tolerance gets high it's really hard to know how intoxicated you actually are because you're so used to it. It's not an excuse, but it's the reason why you see stuff like this. I hope she can turn herself around instead of getting caught in the vicious cycle of facing consequences of drinking and then drinking even more to numb yourself from the resulting guilt and embarrassment. Car autolocs, ethanol detecting ankle monitors, and court imposed treatment programs are underutilized with DUI charges. I'm from Wisconsin and I know how horribly lenient they tend to be with DUIs. Those measures are not going to cure a drinking problem on their own, but it greatly reduces the potential harm until the person is hopefully able to fully recover

This girl has some great unintentional comedy lines. Like, "I'm not as drunk as I am" and instead of breathing into the breath test machine, she inhaled it like it had weed in it lol.

Its usually when its this bad that people dig themselves out and do the best. My ex had to hit his rock bottom in a similar way. We'd broken up (He left me for another woman), he'd ended up in jail and while in jail, I'd moved on to my now husband and his father died. His mother was already dead. So when he got out, his aunt put him up for about a week. He ended up going from that to owning his own business that made him around 500k a year. He had a wife and a son and really and truly made himself over.
