@@petepete3389, you're correct. It's not a crime to be a jerk, and you're also correct that the encounter could have been over in under 5 minutes. However, the stop was completely legitimate, and if you watch the video the lion's share of it's length wasn't the officer speaking to her, it was her that was speaking...not cooperating, and thereby extending the length of the stop. Most of us learn early on in grown-up school that courtesy and cooperation are the best way to accomplish a short traffic stop. Is it possible that one might someday encounter a less-than-professional officer who acts as the jerk...certainly it is, but that is not this officer.
