I think if you mean stupid fun as in a crazy amount of fun, I agree. But people are calling this stupid in mind numbing fun, and I strongly disagree. I think the writing is borderline genius. Like, I don’t think any comedies automatically stupid, and anything that’s dark in grounded, and Grady is automatically compelling and intelligent or insightful. I think a lot of people have trouble seeing past genres, and just judging a film based off of the genre that it is.

Just finished the 10 episodes. What a wild ride! I grew up on this series. When I saw that VW bug, I knew exactly who it was and I wanted her to hit the road alongside Twister. Season 2 (with a bigger budget) will be awesome.

Critics are being so hard on the show. Do the show was borderline flawless to me. It was so unreal, how almost every single joke landed, and how well written the characters were in so many performances were just absolutely incredible for the genre. Not only that the way they adapted all of the twisted metal characters in lore into an apocalyptic setting and still set up. The actual game story was unbelievable to me. Like I was almost crying when granny Dredd, one of the worst characters from twisted Metal 3, which is the worst game in the series with the worst characters died, and she only had maybe 10 or 15 minutes of screen time in one episode. This is by far one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. People are criticizing the CG and the blood, I thought that all looks really good. It 100% look better than most marvel movies from Disney. This was a peacock TV series…

I had my family watch it and they don't know much about the game but they hit all the emotional beats for them to love the series like in the first episode so quite watched her brother shoot himself and in the episode where her and Jon had some laughs and she ends up breaking down in tears in the kitchen and evelin dieing after that was the only thing Jon knew. if you told me 20 years ago that a twisted metal show was going to have all that I wouldn't have believed you lol .. I’ve been playing twisted metal since it’s release. By the way, there were five twisted metals on the original PlayStation. There were three twisted metals on hand held. And to twisted metals on the PlayStation 2 as well as the Reboot on PS3. I think what they did with the show was amazing, I think they knocked it out of the ballpark and gave a great introduction for people who don’t play the game as well as for people who do. As for character story, there never was March Story, to the characters, other than a paragraph or the end scenes of the game until the Reboot on PS3 to where they added some more story in between the game. Each car has seen multiple drivers throughout history of the series. So for fans of the game, this is pretty much a great storytelling build up to know how the tournament started and who calypso really is. To step outside of your comfort zone as a reviewer and Contant creator or a Fanboy… this is a great watch. But to the Fanboys, who can’t ever see anything different, sorry about your luck, but nothings ever gonna be exactly how you like it otherwise end up like Mortal Kombat annihilation and get a straight video game movie with a bunch of fight scenes of cars blowing up lol I got the show 5/5! So if you haven’t watched so you should it’s awesome !

Fun fact about Staind. Their song "Price To Play" was stolen from a band in Chicago that was trying to sign a record deal. Someone from the record company took Chicago bands song to their people and the song was changed then sped up.

I had an absolute blast with this show! Grew up with the games and i think they did a really solid job with keeping the spirit of those original games. I get people being upset because they wanted something more akin to to TM:Black but I really enjoyed the fuckery they got up to with this season. On the flip side the way they handled the bond between John Doe and Evelyn was handled extremely well! I actually cried when my immortal came on 😂 I reeeeaaaaaallllyyyy hope we get a season 2!!!

Twisted metal black is by far my favorite game in the series, and I always tell people it’s a masterpiece with some of the best character stories, characterization an atmosphere I’ve ever seen any form of art. That being said, I immediately thought it would’ve been stupid to go to twisted metal black route for twisted metal. Action comedy was absolutely the way to go and I was hoping they bringing a lot of dark tones. We needed serious characterization when needed. And they did. I love when comedies can make me cry or tear up or genuinely feel something for one of the characters are going through or how they are developing. They killed loud off at the very beginning and getting to see how she felt about him made me sad for her and genuinely wish the character wasn’t dead too because I wanted to get to know him. I couldn’t believe they did that so quickly. They did the same thing with granny dread. Just seeing Miranda, twister, so sad when she was dying, and how quirky and find her character was, it made me really sad she was dying. She’s been on the screen for maybe 10 minutes of one episode.

John Doe drives Roadkill in TW Black as well. Which makes it cool. And the bar that Raven owns is named after her dead bestfriend from the TW Black game. And her wearing the star necklace shows that she's a goth at heart.

They jerked us around for 10 episode only to HOPE they make a second season where the ACTUAL tournament happens.. feel every episode had someone steal their car , Quiet leaves John..they find each other again so on so forth

The series had the perfect tone in my opinion, a mix between the various interations of the games. I missed more of the cars beyond the drivers and at least one car chase in the series. The bar fight would have being perfect for that. It should have developed from a bar fight to a car chase, with spectre, pizza boy and drag queen and evelin, all trying to get the package. I also missed the implementation of specials. Sweet Tooth had his in the final fight. Outlaw should have used a eletricity weapon, could be a "oh fuck moment" for our protagonists. And Roadkill should have some adaptation of one of the car's special as well. And finally, I missed the super natural elements. That said, I really loved the series and I'm anxious for next season hehe

Let's be completely honest, we're all dying to know if Rob Zombie is going to make an appearance! Now I know i know, that was 4 lol. But man 4 just hit different. That's how i found Rob Zombie and I can hear my mother to this day when i told her i wanted his CD, "oh lord... that game got you into his music? ok let's go" and she took me to her friends house who had all kinds of shit from Rob Zombie, right then and there I became a metal head! When TM (original) came out, I was 8yrs old and my parents thought it was the coolest looking game they'd ever seen, so they rented it for my brother and I after 3 rentals from blockbuster in a row they bought it. Up until then the most violent game we had was WCW Nitro and Virtual Fighter on Sega Saturn. Man those were the good ol days (and now I feel old as hell). 😂

Hey I'm even older, lol...I'm 40! Twisted Metal 2 was my jam as a young teen!! I believe Twisted Metal 3 is the first game that had Rob Zombie (Super Beast), I never played TM4. I did play TM Black, and while it was fun once I got used to it, I hated the dark/gritty tone they went for. My go to is TM 2, with the awesome music, vibrant colors, and crazy cars and drivers/specials.

Today's gaming companies are all about money making machines while games we had growing up was completely focused on being the best they could be. Tm was awesome, Resident Evil was actually badass, Clock Tower, Silent HIll. The list of good games was infinite. Today we're lucky to get at the most 2 good games a year from AAA companies. Thank God we have some amazing indie companies. If not for indie games I probably would have sold my pc by now.

Huge Twisted Metal fan back when it was new. Saw the trailers and didn't get good vibes. I'm only 3 or 4 episodes in and find myself enjoying it. Anthony Mackie feels like a Will Smith in his younger years type character and I definitely feel the Zombieland and Deadpool influences. The buddy cop type formula works.I'm going to finish the season and think I will look forward to season 2 as well....Also enjoyed some of the Easter eggs! I dig the music too and it works as 20 years I guess has passed since things went bad 2 decades and safe to say the commercial music industry died so everyone still plays it!

As much as I love the old Twisted Metal 2 (ps1) game and got me into gaming, I do wish they went with the Twisted Metal: Black darker and more realistic take over the campy and goofy side of TM. But I do like the first season quite a bit, all the Easter eggs from each game was awesome. But yeah would’ve prefer the TM: Black adaption for live action.

I had generally the same thoughts By Episode 2 I had the show at a solid 7/10. Then around Episode 4 or 5 I was down to a hard 4/10 and by the last episode I was back at 5/10 The show kinds feels like it had 3 writers fighting over it. One that wanted a drama that paid respect to the source material. One that wanted a comedy and actually knows comedy and timing. Then there's a CW writer who is super cringy and doesn't have a clue when it comes to comedy or character arcs And on a personal note...Agent Stone as Outlaw instead of Crimson Fury really threw me off 😅

I watched the episodes. Few days later watched all 10 again. It was cool, had funny moments. I liked it but at the same time not exactly what I was hoping for tbh. I can see why some people didn’t like it but it wasn’t nearly as bad as they made it sound. Wish something’s would have been different but I see what they was tryna do. They should definitely drop season 2 regardless of the views season 1 got. Cuz all the season 1 haters are still gone watch season 2 to see if it’s more like the game since they introduced the tournament

It seems that Peacock is trying to get the young audience to watch this one because no one cares for Peacock so I can't blame them for trying it. I like Twisted Metal 2 the best, that one is my absolute favorite, TM Black is my second favorite. I haven't watched the show yet, but I'm glad they didn't go with the gritty dark vibes of TM Black, that's the main thing I didn't like about TM Black...I like the colorful, bright, vibrant rock and roll style, with humor, that TM2 has. The first two games are very colorful and crazy, which seems to be the vibe the show is going for!

Is it good? lol no. it is definitely lot better I expected. I expected Netflix Resident Evil bad, this was a really easy watch. There are so many jokes that made my eyes roll. If I weren't bored and in forgiving mood, they are bad enough I would have considered dropping the show. if the episodes were a hour instead of 30 minutes I would have dropped the show. lets be real its twisted metal, I never gave a shit about the story or the characters I just thought the games were fun.

I actually enjoyed watching this shoe and tbh, i liked the chemistry and relationship between Quiet & John Doe. Sweet Tooth is the highlight of the season, had they not nailed it, this show would go down significantly. As long as they tone down the dumb jokes it's not bad.

My advantage is going in with zero expectations. I loved both Twisted Metal and The Last of Us. I’m not a lore fanatic where every t must be crossed or I doted. I view even stories I’ve been told as more of an unreliable narrative or this guy saw it one way but this one saw it another.
