I'm intrigued. What exactly is a coffee crisp? Sounds like a coffee flavored malted milk concoction from the sound of the knife when you were chopping it.

@@SyBernot It's like a big coffee kitkat style of candybar.... so I guess that people around the world could have a similar experience with the coffee liquor and some kitkats or maybe there's coffee kitkats from japan available (at some import store near you)

Spumoni! Would you happen to have a version of the no-churn that's the pistachio flavor? Cherry and chocolate + a little amaretto isn't hard to figure out. Pistachio's got me stumped.

Your Ice Cream experiments put me in mind of a Water Ice shoppe that used to be. Water Ice is in the spectrum of flavored ice-based deserts of various textures such as SnoCones, Hawaiian Shave Ice, and Sorbet (the closest to "Water Ice"). The proprietors would go to the docks several times a week and pick up the freshest fruits, and from them make that week's flavors. Standard Italian Water Ice flavors are: Lemon, Vanilla, Cherry, and Chocolate (with mini chocolate chips), but, my very favorite flavor was the Plum water ice they only made once. It was fabulous.

You Canadians are so lucky to have Coffee Crisps! We get it (sort of) here in Detroit because we are a border town, but it’s hideously expensive and there’s only one store I know of that carries it. It’s a rare but delicious treat!

Hi Glen. Canadian from the GTA now living in Australia. Like you guys I don't like coffee, but don't mind coffee flavoured things. I might give this a try if I can get my hands on coffee crisp. I have a fancy ice cream maker so I make my ice cream the traditional way. My original goal was to try and duplicate the amazing vanilla bean that breyers used to make years ago before a big corporation ruined it. I succeeded. Then I started to experiment. For me, vanilla bean is still the best. My other go to flavours other than vanilla bean are chocolate chip cookie dough and stracciatella. Biggest failure, captain cruch. At $16 a box that was a huge disappointment. However the one experiential flavour that absolutely blew our minds was gingerbread! Part of my regular rotation now.

Coffee ice cream is one of my favorites. I've been playing with flavors for no-churn ice cream ... mint chocolate was the last. Same recipe as yours, but I use my food processor. Now you've given me an idea. Maybe a coffee simple syrup, or just adding instant coffee would do the trick. Then stir in chopped chocolate covered coffee beans. This method is so easy and gives store-bought ice cream a run for its money.

Candied orange peel, Grand Marnier, maybe a bit if dark chocolate flecks thrown in for good measure?? Coffee liqueur is dead simple, you basically make cold-brew coffee but with some kind of hard alcohol instead of water. It takes quite some time in the fridge, I'm sure you could speed it up by heating the mixture of coffee grounds and liquor, but don't get it too hot or it will start changing the flavor.

This was almost exactly the variation I commented I was going to try on the last no-churn ice cream video. I don't have coffee crisp around here, so I was using chopped up heath bars. I'm not sure how long it's been available near me as I might've never noticed it had I not visited Canada and tried it a few years ago.
