I don’t even watch movies, but I’d go see one he’s in. ETA: I’m not a movie person, I read. The only movie I’ve seen with Johnny Depp was Edward Scissorhands. There was so much truth and vulnerability.

When I went to court to obtain a protection order from my ex-husband, I was too afraid to look at him. I just looked straight ahead at the judge clutching my files to my chest and shaking. Apparently, he was looking over at me because the judge threatened to remove him from the courtroom. Those of us who have been there can tell what's going on here. We can hear it in his words and how he speaks. And see it in his facial expressions and movements. We can feel it as well and it's painful.

Same. When I was battling things through court, one of the courthouses that I went to didn't really have much separating my side versus opposing side so I could literally see my ex from where I was sitting. I was shaking so hard that people were coming up to me to ask me if I was okay. I got told many times it looks like I was going to pass out

I think he is not looking at her for why you say, but also I believe that he is simply done giving her attention and fueling her crazy. You put out a fire by suffocating it and when you leave a narcissistic abuser you simply do not engage anymore. Even eye contact can be oxygen to an abuser.

what's telling for me is how she started "sobbing" after leaving the room, we've already observed her literal inability to cry on the stand so she waited until there were no cameras, or people to see her perform her best crying, and it must of been quite loud for people in a literal different room can hear her. My other speculation is that maybe, she did genuinely cry, I think that maybe coming face to face, with a confident, laughing Johnny, who she could no longer control, demean and abuse, it made everything real to her, I think she realised, what's actually happening, that she really is being exposed as a lier and being sued, I think the shock you see and her "crying" afterwards is a massive dose of reality hitting her like a truck
@BabySharque
@BabySharque 2 жыл бұрын
The issue with Amber's reaction leaving the stand is that this is day 2 - we have video of her walking past Johnny's table on day 1 of her testimony, and she struts past him with her chin pointed as she glugs a water bottle and glances his way. The fear response on day 2 is completely feigned.

Also, and this deserves its own comment: I zoomed in on Johnny’s face throughout AH’s testimony about Australia and my heart broke for him. His facial expressions and body language are absolutely consistent with a victim having to suffer through someone spewing massive, horrendous lies about you while you are held captive and having to be super careful about your facial expressions and other reactions (Not a body language expert; just an empathic domestic lawyer who handles a lot of high conflict custody and DV cases). I’m also appalled by the audacity of her PR statement (and definitely think it was written by her, given the repeated demeaning statements using similes for her favorite insult toward him.

@ʕง•ᴥ•ʔง According to the video/audio recordings, Johnny lacks neither courage nor fortitude. He has the patience of a saint, and lashed out at the kitchen cabinets instead of AH. He was trying not to be in her presence, but there she comes, with her phone on record video. It is clear from these recordings that she made what should've been his dream life into a nightmare. “Completely lose their ability to speak” This hit me so hard. My case never went to trial. My lawyer settled without telling me or my family. So my attacker only had a hearing with the judge handing him probation. I was given the chance to speak but was unable to because seeing him in the same room completely shut me down. It still bothers me to this day that I wasn’t able to speak for myself. This was almost 20 years ago now. But it makes me feel better that there are people in the profession that understand how traumatic it is to be in the same room as your attacker.

I'm so sorry for whatever you went through, and also how horrifically the lawyers retraumatized you by reaching any type of settlement without even considering you, your feelings, your future safety. You deserved better across so many levels of this situation. I personally was unable to face my offender, physically angling my chair just enough in court so that I could address the judge and didn't have to see the attacker. That didn't stop my whole body from going into full tremors just hearing him enter the court. Also decades ago and I still feel palpitations recalling it. You are not alone! Thank y’all so much. ❤️❤️ I was a teenager and my lawyer said it was a case of “he said she said” happening even though there were teachers that came to the court hearing to testify to his inappropriate behavior. He was on the football team and a ton of his friends made up lies even though they had no idea of what happened. They harassed me at school too. The school was also incredibly biased and it really opened my eyes to how victims are treated. It was really hard to process that at the time. Hearing Emily talk about this has really helped me be able to be kinder to myself for not being able to speak at the hearing.

victim needs to maintain composure (JD) as a survivor I have been in court testifying against the perpetrator more than once --Incessantly being compelled to SIGH..to take in a deep breath and then sigh in response to being forced to listen outrageous claims by your abuser is the only way to calm yourself rather than show contempt. deep breathing and then what I call "le sigh" is self soothing. JD does this far less often than I'd have to in his shoes. Eating candy and coloring is ALSO self soothing for a victim and a way to avoid getting triggered and emotional. No doubt his team knows or he has had some advice from an advocate to use these comping mechanisms while having to listen to her testify , stare him down and lie.

Her abuse was all about control... Most abuse is about control... I am a ex addict of 25 years, been clean about 8 years now.... Every addict relationships I know was like this... Psych issues and multiple addictions.. Amber tried to control Johnny's addiction... You can't control someone's addictions.. abuse is like a game. . You do something to me, and then I will do something to you.. it can keep escalating until someone gets hurt.... One of the major reason why they encourage separate recovery plans for couples... Imo, addict relationships don't have a chance in the world.... When one party is ready to quit, the other is not, and vis versa.. there are couples who have made it, but I garauntee the percentage is low..

Also, I was thinking about the after court incident where AH pretended to be terrified of JD when he was walking towards her. I really had a long think about this. Since it was her 2nd day of testimony and we’ve been at this for weeks, he wasn’t used to her being right there at the end of court. She’s typically on the other side of the courtroom. So I truly think out of habit he was just moseying the way he normally would and didn’t even think twice, especially considering he wasn’t keeping an eye on her anyway. So he didn’t keep tabs on her whereabouts. He was just going about his usual route. You can see when he finally makes the connection, he’s confused but then brushes it off like… girl I don’t wanna come anywhere near you… just another thought.

I grew up in an emotionally and mentally abusive household and everything from the recordings, text messages and his own testimony proves to me he was abused. From agreeing to her demands, wanting to leave the room when she is going off, hardly standing up for himself, feeling like you have nothing else to give but also having the hope that it will work out are classic signs. Also, the sniggering is common, because the lies and claims against you become old and ridiculous to the point of being humorous. This is also very common after you have gotten away from the abuser and healed yourself. She has the classic abuser markers, lying, blaming the victim, making things up, having to put you down to the point where it's habitual for them to do so, not taking any responsibility for their actions, throwing everything and the kitchen sink at you to prove you're wrong. Plus, the knife audio her team played when JD was on the stand proves how horrible she is. It's not proof of him threating her but proof he was in distress, and she used that audio to hurt him deeply. That's what abusers do; I know because I was raised by one.

But you typically DON'T see a victim who turns around & becomes the aggressive one constantly. They might snap eventually. he said that the monster is him when he’s sober. I know what he is talking about as i have struggled with opiate addiction. Coming off of opiates is so terrible. You have to have supportive people around you or you will suffer even more. Im guessing she would treat him like shit while he was detoxing and he would fire back because of how much pain he was in. I doubt he ever hurt her, but the “monster” is probably another way of describing him as he’s going through withdrawals. Withdrawals cause a runny nose, sweats, chills, inability to sleep, and even body aches. It’s terrible.

The way she relentlessly mimics and mocks and gaslights stands out to me. Saying he's pitiful and lacks fortitude meanwhile complaining that he has the nerve to bother with a legal battle, wow. I noticed even little phrases like "and such" sounded natural in his testimony but the same words in her testimony sounded out of place like it wasn't normally a phrase she'd use. And the contempt in her voice whenever she mentions him crying. Ugh. Some people have said this trial is a spectacle that really achieves nothing because they're both being dragged through the mud, but it's put a spotlight on a particular devastating type of abusive dynamic, and I think that's positive even if nothing else is.

Also Sudden startle response was very strong for years after leaving home. Anyone who would approach me quickly or from the side of behind, the autonomic nervous system would be trigger for duck and cover protective response. Further to the stair incident - if JD had really been abusing her so severely, why would her first thought be of a 25+ year-old rumour about Kate Moss? The positioning she's describing makes no sense unless she was on a stair and Johnny on the landing with her sister acrobatically inserting herself between them. I am a big believer in listening to both sides, was not a stan of JD and had never heard of her before their marriage, I wanted to believe her if she was telling the truth despite already being pretty impressed by JD's team's job. After the hectic SA, she said she was worried the relationship was over and it would be the end, and that the heartbreak was worse than the abuse. After the SA she claims she was bleeding, her feet were cut up bad, yet she was walking around the house with no issues after. and there's no mention of a hospital visit or any medical treatment, and instead (within 24 hours) she took a 12+ hour long flight back home, with the house manager who claims never saw any injuries, and she asked him on the flight "Have you ever been so angry with anyone in your life that you just lost it?". She behaved as if the abuse never happened. Which is telling. I was ok to take her at her word initially. I felt bad for her, but after hearing her testimony of the Australia incident (which she claims was crazy violent SA) and yet she put 0 on the 'SA' abuse section according to her expert psycologist witness, I'm 100% convinced she's making up some of the testimony. Maybe not all, maybe some things did happen, even if he did hit her, but she's discrediting herself by embellishing it so much.

I think Johnny Depp has taken responsibility for his mistakes, while Amber Heard has taken none, presenting herself as a flawless victim - an account that strongly clashes with the audio evidence. For that alone I’d be inclined to believe him over her. The other thing that has convinced me is their history of violence with various spouses, or absence thereof. So, I do hope that the door is now well and truly open, so the jury can hear of it too. The PR statements represent the two counsels quite well, I believe. His has an edge, but manages to bring through the message “Amber’s statements will not go unchallenged” without taking cheap shots. Hers is convoluted, poorly executed and unnecessarily aggressive.

Hi! My job as a kid was to put makeup on my fugue state mom for church. Rings or not, there’s no color corrector or any other makeup that completely covers that sh!t up. So far as arnica-it doesn’t make bruises magically disappear-I used it as an uncoordinated athlete. It helps with hematomas- those big black ugly bruises, but it still takes at least a week, doesn’t take away the swelling or color, just shortens the process. I hope Johnny gets the justice he deserves. ETA: Amber’s account of abuse and her photos were incongruous, to say the least. ETA: Makeup doesn’t make the swelling go away. I’m still so angry at the police, CPS, and church people who didn’t help us. It was a different time, I guess. 🤷‍♀️ ETA: to also add my school guidance counselor that I spoke to every day, told everything. I tried to get us help, there just wasn’t any. What does counsel do when or if they feel the client is not being truthful if you can't drop your client, can they not be as aggressive in the questioning etc. What is done if the team believes there is no possible win for them when you're so deep into a trial

I think he has taken responsibility for his actions in the marriage. And I think the lawsuit in the UK was an attempt to clear his name without directly calling out Amber or putting her through the intense scrutiny that she is now undergoing. Meaning, he was still attempting to spare her as much as possible for as long as he could. I don't know anyone who paid attention to the UK trial. I only remember reading something about Winona Ryder supporting him. But this trial, man, I have forged new friendships over talking about this trial.

@@laneyjarchow2626 AH’s attorneys have used quotes from the UK trial and depositions against JD’s teams’s witnesses, but they’ve been relying heavily on inserting their own interpretations of quotes and texts or taking them out of context. When your argument depends not only on what people said but *how* they said it - as in the exact words - it causes a problem for you when they say it slightly differently. People may not always pick up on the distinction, but there’s a big difference between giving a similar-but-not-identical response to a question you were asked years ago and giving one that’s completely different, e.g. “It was a big black dog” vs. “It was a huge black dog,” vs. “There was no dog,” or “It was a cat.”)

A possible answer for why she would wipe her nose with the back of her hand is if she had rubbed a menthol stick on the back of her hand to help her have something to tear up with on the stand. I laughed so hard when I realized Amber's lawyer said her name wrong. Her team has not looked great anyway and this was just ridiculous. It shouldn't be a huge deal, and wouldn't be if they'd mixed us the witnesses or whatever BUT to get their own client's name wrong and the client to correct her immediately was just showing the absolute ignorance of her legal team. GIRL! You got all that money from the divorce and the money from your acting and you couldn't even hire a team that knows your legal name?! LMAO I think Amber mixing up her word, verb tenses, stories, lies, etc...she's confused her own legal team and they're probably getting frazzled and realizing there's a pretty damn good chance they loose this case and every member of her team is showing the impact...that's just my opinion though. Think about it, let's take Amber's side as what really happened, wouldn't you want to make absolute sure you could testify on behalf of your sibling if they were abused as Amber Claims. In fact, the only reason why I wouldn't want to do it is if they were wanting me to lie. I would certainly not want to lie under oath, maybe that's the reason Whitney didn't do it 🤔

I agree, they listen to the answer (Ben King especially) then repeat it back Fast & Mean like saying CORRECT at the end. It's nutty & I think it's to sound like they knew all along. Watching the 2nd time you see that all three male attorneys do this, but Elaine is abrasive. It got me the way they tried to dial down answers too. Could it have been more than ..... Over & over same question. It's obvious they all thought they had a slam dunk. Depp testimony shook them. Dr. Curry could not be cracked by Elaine (big setback), but they still believed their Experts would pull it back for them. It did not happen, none of their "Experts" could hold up to Depp's legal cross. Not a one sounded Expert after Depp's Attorneys shredded them. So Heard was left with nothing but her lies and suspect photos. I can't believe they gave her even one win. She didn't deserve that, it was obvious to the world.

While I think most of what she said isn’t true the “My baby sister” is a common statement especially when the older child is parentified and that is common in situations of child abuse where the older sibling is made to care and protect the younger one from the parent(s). We know she has been abused by her parents. That actually rings true that she hit him and thought she was protecting her sister in her reality. It’s how she justifies hitting him.
