This story hits a little close to home. My ex was a Correctional Officer & took his anger from the job out on me. Unfortunately, at the end of our 6 month relationship, he beat me so badly that I was hospitalized for a multitude of severe injuries, but the worst was that the physical stress sent me into preterm labor at 21 weeks 5 days, reunions in our daughter taking a single breath before passing away. I couldn’t get justice because he was a member of law enforcement & the DA said that I wasn’t a reliable witness because our relationship started online & moved quickly. That was 25 years ago & the loss still affects me just as much today as it did then. I’m happy to hear that Mindy’s friends & family continue to keep her alive through their memories. She sounds like a beautiful soul & I hope she is at peace.

I'm so sorry for both realizing Mindy was helpful in your treatment and for the fact you have MS. I've heard MS is extremely painful. Has the new treatment helped with your pain? I pray it is. I am on the last leg of my battle with a type of breast cancer that every woman who got it died until only a few years ago. The new chemo that I was given went through many trials and errors but was eventually the main component that saved my life. There is a certain type of sadness and gratitude when we think of those who went before us in medical trials.

Adrian, I watched a crime show yesterday. In this case a 32 year old CPS( child protective services) employee, a social worker passed herself off successfully as a 13 year old, then as a 16 year old. During that entire time she was going to junior high and high school. That is mind boggling enough, but then to find out during all those years she attended various schools under false pretenses, she remained employed full time with CPS!! She was in fact never written up for anything, no one knew she wasn't making her calls to families, there was virtually NO oversight or accountability for one of the most important jobs here in the US and the UK. Child Protective Services. I was staggered. Then I read down through the comments, and one lady tells about a CPS worker she knows which lost her own two children. Yet she was allowed to go back to work with the CPS as a supervisor. The second account is just a comment so? I think all of us who watch crime shows, are upset the most by child abuse, and torture cases. Especially the many, many where CPS is and has been involved. I got it in my head that there should be a peaceful protest, a march on Washington ( or something) to demand a change in Child Protective Services. Similar to the BLM movement maybe CLM. Childs lives Matter.?? Or something we could all get behind. Only someone with a voice could get this going. I am a 62 year old lady who doesn't drive, and takes care of my mother. But I would figure out a way to get to a protest to protect our children. This is a plea for someone with more time and better health to take up this cause, it is a worthy one. ~~Just google social worker pretends to be high school student~~ Sadly we are all aware of the hundreds of children murdered by their own parents while under CPS care. You can google all those too, they are profoundly disturbing.

My respect for the Morgensterns, for thinking of the children of the murderer and especially for their forgiveness. I’m always amazed at how people who would have reasons to be vengeful or nasty or at least complainers, don’t choose a path riddled with negativity but the opposite. That ultimate loss and grief sometimes seems to put the loved ones of the victims on a higher level of forgiveness where they’re in control of their feelings and actions, which are positive. Personally, I’m not that evolved, I struggle with the concept of forgiveness towards someone who doesn’t work for it. When someone who has been convicted 100% with all the evidence you could think of, DNA, …, witnesses just grins arrogantly in court hearings, in media interviews, denying that he has murdered 2.
