I appreciate you taking the time to do this step by step. Without videos like this, guys like me without any formal automotive training couldn’t work on our cars. Much Appreciated!

For future reference the waterproof little silicone seals are supposed to get clamped under the rear insulation crimp part of the terminal so they get pulled down into the connector body when the terminal is pushed into the back of the connector. In all reality it does not make that much difference to there functionality of the seal as long as they get push inside the connector body they seal the back of the connector pretty well. one other thing you can put a teeny tiny(and i mean tiny) bit of of washing up liquid or silicone lube spray on the the silicone water proof seal to make it slide inside the back of the connector body. it make it much easier to push the seal in.

Hey man! Watched this over again to see how you did then sequentially but honestly making that harness looks like it’s gonna take me a century. I’m currently experiencing a blowout around 3900 rpm’s on r8 coils with bkr7e-11s at .022” gap. I’ve swapped back to stock ignition currently and it’s worse in boost but for causal driving it’s still great like the r8s. I’m only noticing the blowout during WOT. I have a bunch of data logs and videos but it’s been about an 8 month tuning process so far and have yet to figure it out. Maybe sequential will help? I’m currently on wasted spark and the r8 coils just plug and play directly into the stock coil harness(just had to repin the plugs on stock side to fit r8 harness.)

Hi mate, I'm a Motorsport harness technician. As a first go this is a great effort however my only criticisms would be: Don't splice wires via solder as solder can deteriorate over time. Invest in shotgun splices or butt splices. I can send you the RS Component number if you're interested. The only big issue I would say is the waterproof grommet in the rear of connectors, the front lip of the grommet is meant to be crimped under the insulation crimp and butted against the conductor crimp so it's held securely in place, instead of being slid up. Keep up the good work bud and hope these tips help in the future!

Thank you for the input i greatly appreciate it. in the future if i have issues ill make wiring harness 2.0 😉

Are the wires you have put to the coils not a bit big? Extra resistance and that?!?

well this is what i was thinking. i done a tonne of research adn dug up an old post on a forum that said use 16awg wire, i ordered 16 and i can only trust they sent the right wire

Bigger wire = Less resistance. More space for the electrons to flow ;)
