Louisville Kentucky also experienced the’37 flood. Every time it would rain for what seemed like days my mother would recount those days.🌧️

It was so nice you gave a bit of background on the man who owned this group of items. It humanizes the experience.

Yes I agree this man has become part of the history of the coins he once held. Forever enshrined and connected by the great tribute Dan made him with this video.

I’m with on the finding little treasures hidden away in change purses and the like. It’s like a treasure hunt when you’re a kid…and in many cases when you’re an adult too…lol. It really is a thrill to look through stuff like that.

I always thought full bell lines meant from bottom left to right on a coin , not the break on the bell ?

That collection was pretty neat. 👍

Nice video as always. Personally if I had the option of buying a coin with a hole in it or buying a repaired version I'd rather have it unrepaired. It tells a better story. Who knows how long someone wore it. Or how long it was in circulation before it was drilled. I once found an 1867 nickel 3 cent piece in a dime roll that had holes on either side of the III to be worn as a bracelet. It's probably my favorite coin just for the history of who made it, wore it and how it was lost back into circulation.

As a kid growing up in Provo, Utah, I used to find WWII-era state tax tokens while playing in the dirt of my grandmother's garden. Some were metal, most were (orange?) plastic with a hole in the center. I'm pretty sure they weren't worth anything, but I sure wish I still had some of those great treasure finds from my childhood. To this day, I cannot be 100% sure my grandma didn't "seed" the yard with coins and tokens in order to pique my curiosity. 😂
@SqueezeMonger22 сағат бұрын
Wow thats a great story, now i too wonder if grandma was seeding the yard. That would be the sweetest thing ive ever heard

I have a 1936 Clipped Planchet Penny that the rim is intact and will stand on its own. How does it have the Rim because on most clipped coins I’ve never seen this before. It is at 9 o clock at the In God we Trust. I found that in a bag of unsearchedPennie’s. I also had 2 1909 S VDB and 1 -1909 VdB that I’ve since lost 😢 I was told by my LCS that they were worth $30 each when I found them in 2012. I’m still depressed over that very much. Now I gave up on the hobby . The mint executives hold all the real valuable coins.

There's always fun stuff out there. It's part of what makes the hobby fun. Thanks, Daniel!

Pretty cool clipped cent. I think it`s the real deal (minting error) and not `post-mint damage` And it`s red so it was never really circulated. Nice!
