My grandfather had his own struggles and was more than an alcoholic, he fought in two foreign wars and raised eight children with one woman. I bring this up because one of the few times he talked to me, he told me to “only drink to quench the fires of undeniable success as a means to subside your ego. Never in times of uncertainty or sadness as it will never help you overcome.” Now I only drink at parties and even then I still ask myself what am I celebrating?
