I used Nitro-Mors paint stripper on my CS Shanghai Shadow, the coating just fell off.

Since the blade isn't stainless, that paint you removed does help to inhibit rust.

Ok seriously, can you comment on how sharp it can get and it's edge retention. 1055 is a pretty tough steel; not convinced it's good for a cutting blade yet.

I can’t tell you how sharp it’ll get, you can get any knife razor sharp but it’s how well it holds the edge. Honestly this knife doesn’t hold an edge well, in my opinion it’s good for a beater knife.
