This is very helpful as always, Cole! I think using someone else's song as a starting point for cadences is a very good strategy. You could just open any instrumental and get going straight away. It could potentially stop any writer's block or pressure you might feel to write full lyrics immediately. Thanks so much! Alis

I’ve been scatting for almost a year now in the car in my mic with my headphones. I have never wrote a song nor have I made a song yet but I practice this almost every day while learning what Cole has to offer. I am just now looking into songwriting to put the two together. Thanks for making this fun experience!

Some hit songs I recommend studying their cadence and how they come it. Post malones rockstar was cleverly done by coming in really late. It couldve been a regular song but finding the right cadence and timing can change the whole song!

Would it be a smart plan to just scat to a beat, record it and then write lyrics over your scatting? Or scat to a beat and use that cadence to write 4 bars with a fitting lyrics to that cadence and go on to the next 4 bars using a different cadence from your scat recording? Would love to hear from you. I would also like to tell you to keep ehat your doing, you give insanely good advice. For what its worth: you are really underrated in my opinion. Peace out

Hey cole can you make a video on trap beat song structure because it confuses me is it 16 bars per verse and 8 bars hook and what to do when there are no snares it's just the melody
@ColeMizeStudios5 жыл бұрын
Hey Danchy, I cover most of that in my series "5 Minutes To A Better Rap Flow" kzbin.info/www/bejne/qJm4i6qqa7tje9U Be sure to check it out! Slower Trap style instrumentals typically have 12 bar verses and 8 bar hooks. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching and commenting! 😎✌️ - Cole Mize

Idk if you've covered this before but what about using a song that's already made but we re-do it with our own lyrics copy the whole song just switch it up. Do you think this would help?
@ColeMizeStudios5 жыл бұрын
Yes you could certainly do that for learning purposes, but I wouldn't do it if you plan on releasing the song and trying to make money off it. Try to use other songs as inspiration for your own creations, to influence you etc.. but put your on spin on it and make it different. 😎✌️ - Cole Mize
