I came to watch this video after seeing you make the fried pies with some of the leftover stew. Looks yummy 😋 I sure wish I had learned from you years ago when I was first married so I'd have been a better cook for my "better half". He's gone to be with the Lord now and I don't cook near as much. ❤

Comfort food. I put mine on top of my wood stove and let it simmer for hours. Mmmmmmm good. New potatoes are just that. They are the first little ones harvested and are small.

I always make my stew this way. When it comes out of the oven I add a bag of frozen peas. The stew is so hot that it cooks them Immediately. Also, I have turned oven down to 225 and let it cook all day, when I was working. I’m 76 years old and have cooked my whole life.

I don't care what anyone says....a Dutch Oven Stew cooked atop a woodstove tastes much different than a Stove Top or Oven.

Gary that is so true about the stove top dutch oven,so much better like frying fish out in the air that fish is so much better Tammy is such a good cook

Breakfast sandwiches fixed open air on a wood stove griddle are also much different. Every part...the toast, the bacon, the fried egg. .....also try English Bread French Toast with Irish Butter....yummy !

I always thought new potatoes were freshly dug potatoes that haven’t had time for the skins to toughen. I could be wrong. This stew looks amazingly delicious, it’s pretty too. Love ya all. ❤

The potatoes here are exactly like my grandma's always were. I can tell the texture just from seeing them. I can't wait to try this one! Also I'm in love with that little side oven. Being able to toss a pie in while I'm braising a stew sounds incredible.

Hi Tammy & Chris! Nothing says "stew" like cold weather! We were enjoying Brunswick Stew yesterday when this video posted but have all the ingredients on hand to try this recipe today. Am going to make two batches; one we'll start this morning in the crockpot since it probably have to cook longer as you mentioned and the second batch we'll cook in the oven. Will be nice to compare the two. Thanks for sharing this recipe and thanks for another video, y'all! Stay warm!! 😊

@@kimhoneycutt6258 as we're sampling both batches of stew , there really is no difference in the flavor, Might be a little more convenient to use the crockpot if not going to be home in time to use the oven method. This stew is delicious either way judging from all the "Mmmmm, good." that I'm hearing as my crew digs in!!

@patc.318 Hey Pat, thank you so much for answering me! I'm a huge fan of crockpot cooking. I'm glad to know you liked it that way. Did you use a meat tenderizer?? I don't always have the best luck with stew beef 🤷♀️. Thanks again. Have a blessed day🙌

I made this yesterday and it was the best I ever made!! Soooo delicious. I didn't have any canned tomatoes so I used mild Rotel instead.
