I'm very new to the channel (literally subscribed yesterday) but I would recommend reacting to the album Hunky Dory by David Bowie.

The Subterranean No problem man, welcome to the channel! And I’ll add that to the list, I’ve definitely heard of David Bowie but have not really heard many of his songs! Will have to check him out! 🔥😁

This is a cover, originally an American hit for the band Crow. Guitarist Tony Iommi has stated that they didn’t want to record the song, but it was their manager Jim Simpson who insisted it.

Great I was hoping you'd catch that groove Geezer was laying down on that bass! I never heard this song until I found it on a compilation, "Best Of" type album a few years later.

Good point! Some people don't notice that rhythm section. Sabbath, Zeppelin and The Who are my 3 favorites, in no particular order.@@ANationalAcrobat

Was lucky enough to grow up with this music. Studio albums today are overly produced and they have lost that gritty raw edge that feels live. Early Sabbath, purple Zep. unbelievable! Check out Heaven and Hell Sabbath album when Ronnie Dio replaced Ozzy on vocals, urs a different style but unbelievably brilliant.

do some "uriah heep" stuff, please! the late "sympathy" or the early "gypsy", "july morning" etc. stuff. i'd love to hear "april" by deep purple, but that masterpiece is about 14 min long. the others are quite short. btw: thanks for your videos - i really enjoy them!

Wow cool. When this album was released this song was only on the British import cut. This song is not on the American cut. Of course that was when we were dealing with LPS. I'm not sure where you would find the version of evil woman today.

The reason why ”Evil Woman” didn’t end on the American cut (and was replaced by ”Wicked World”) is because it had already been a hit for the band Crows in the US.

One day you should listen to Cream, one of the best rock bands. Jack Bruce, hell of a bass player, Ginger Baker, a beast on the drums, and Eric Clapton, no words needed, they were the perfect band. My recommendations are "Sunshine of your love", "White room" and my personal favourite "Tales of brave Ulysses".

Try listening to the german band "Lucifer's Friend". Very skilled musicians! The singer is John Lawton from England, who also was a member of The Les Humphries Singers and Uriah Heep. I can recommend these tracks from the album Banquet: -Spanish galleon [11:58] -Thus spoke Oberon [6:48] -High flying lady - goodbye [3:43]

This wasn't on the U.S. version, only the U.K. version. I heard this song and said "This sounds a lot like Sabbath...". My friend said, "That's probably because it is." Me being the Sabbath super-fan that I am had to have it. He cut me a copy, but I later found a reprint vinyl in a record store in the early 2000's. It's a great song, but it's a cover and does stand out a bit from the others. I see why they separated it from the other darker songs. But any song that at the original Sabbath members recorded, I MUST HAVE. I still look for live, demos or any other recordings that I don't have.

This was on the British version, the American version had Wicked World, and they released a 45 single with both songs. I think the reasoning was that the inclusion of Evil Woman made the British version more radio accessible in Britain; so while the band probably preferred Wicked World, they probably weren't too worried about American airplay at the time (in fact, were probably knocked out they got ANY airplay). They could release the album the way they (more or less) wanted in the US. Check out Crow's original version of Evil Woman: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i2jOZoSlqbqtpLM Sabbath had simply done a pop cover to try to get British airplay (in the eyes of their manager). Not a whole lot of differences (apart from the brass section). Now, check out the original version of The Warning: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZ2WlGBqZ82ojZI This sounds like a demo version of what would become the final version of Warning. Sabbath took a little known song, covered it, and made it their own - not really trying to make it sound like the original, while definitely improving on it.
