This is the Electrothrust Power Speedway seeing trains from around the world race on a dedicated point to point speed track (it might be Isle of Wight, work your imaginations, friends). This is a no-holds-barred grudge match with drivers from around the world competing in just about any train they can fit onto the track.
In round one Trainboy's LIRR M7 takes on Colonel Failure's Class 101 in what is sure to not be in any way one-sided.

The 100mph train wins over the 70mph train on a track where trains can run at full speed for the entire length of the track. Who would have thunk.

A suggestion: Rather than going full speed, run the race according to the speed limits. The one who gets to the end fastest without going over the speed limit wins. Speed violations would be your Faults/Time Penalties along with the whistles.

Great fun! A fairer test might include actually stopping at the end and faults awarded for innacuracies, but I guess that’s not quite the spirit of this competition

Suggestion, why not having both trains stop at the location which would add a bit of difficulties as you can't drive as fast as 100 near the station given that you would loose if don't stop at the point. This also will give the slower train a chance to get there and gives both a better chance. Moreover, may I suggest detail valley as there is a chance of heavy detailing and it is much harder to go over speed on some given locomotives
