Really like this video. Was looking at changing the color of my driver's crown, but you just gave me an additional idea. Thanks for the videos.

Hi Brad. I have just tried your technique to change the colour of my driver and 5 wood but it did not work. 😢. I did it exactly the way you showed on the video but nothing. I used 5 batteries as I was expecting the blueish colour but niks. The club heads used were a Titleist 917 driver and a Tietlist 915 fairway wood.

@@kevanpillay9701 can you post pics in my Facebook group? DIY golf club restoration is the name. Thanks.

Me too, set it up as a "science experiment" with my 7yr old. Looked like a straight up 🤡! Driver was a MacGregor MacTec, I even made sure to find a SS anode. Used a little to a lot of baking soda. 🤷 Can't win em all.

I wanted to add, I'm also stripping down my daughter's clubs to bare metal. She's going to pick out the colors and give the rattle bomb a go. Shout out Brad for making me look like a cool dad most of the time! Love the channel!

@ronchi556 did you have a good electric connection? Meaning, did you connect to bare metal or was it painted?

@@ronchi556 That's awesome. Let me know how it goes!

Very cool! Is there a way to make it fade colors to other colors? Does heat do anything?
@BradMeehan7 ай бұрын
Yessir. You lower the voltage and dip about halfway and you can get fades. I'm going to do this heat changing thermochromatic paint to a club. When the driver is hot, you see a different image: kzbin.info1Ep6QSLqzOI?feature=shared

Can't wait to try this myself. And to see the thermo paint.

Loving your vids! What sort of resotration would you do for irons that never had the chrome/ polished look? E.G Tommy Armour 845's from the 80's/ 90's, Ping Eye 2's, or old Taylormade burner irons? Thanks so much!
@BradMeehan7 ай бұрын
I have all the video for this filmed! I still need to edit it, here are the steps: you still polish it to make everything even, then use your handheld sandblaster (or cabinet if you have one) using glass beads at a low pressure. I'll edit this video to show you. It's the easiest finish to do.

@@BradMeehan awesome, thanks! Gonna refinish my dad's 845's and my grandpa's Ben Hogan Edge's with these videos. Super helpful!

Just picked up a titanium ladies driver (16 degree) I'm reshafting to use as a "tee 3 wood". I might have to strip the purple paint off and try this out!

How will it hold up with hitting balls?
@BradMeehan7 ай бұрын
Yes. You can't easily remove it with sandpaper alone unless you really spend time doing it. The sole would be vulnerable imo, but the face is solid.
