Despite my love of drummers such as Billy Cobham and Narada, I have to say Jon H has always been my favourite soloist largely because he tells a story as well as demonstrating unbelievable technical chops on a par with any other great drummer you care to mention. And great to see Barbara doing what she does best!

I was there and this had been one of the highlights of many, many concerts I've seen. You can't hear it so well here, but that very moment the solo ended, the crowd cheered so loud, it was out of this world. You can see the band's reaction!

Man, I saw him so many times back in the day. I'd forgotten just how good he is and how well his playing stands up to modern greats like Gavin Harrison. This video reminded me why. Tx for the upload.

@MrRockinRoland Jon Hiseman is arguably the best technical jazz-rock drummer of his generation and still holds his own with emerging musicians. I've seen him many times, initially with his original Colosseum back in the early 70s and also with his wife's band, Barbara Thompson's Paraphernalia. He was brilliant 40 years ago (incidentally the first drummer I ever saw using twin bass drums) and seems to be always improving. Check out his Valentyne Suite -old and new versions.
