We have issued a weather impact day on Wednesday night into Thursday morning, for the possibility of strong to severe storms.
The weather system that is moving into our region is the same storm that brought tornadoes to parts of Iowa and Minnesota yesterday. The storms system, however, is much weaker today compared to yesterday. With that being said, there is still enough energy in the atmosphere to produce large hail and damaging winds.
The track of the storm has shifted southeast of the area, meaning that many of you may not get any storms at all. Counties southeast of I-71 have the best chance of getting a late night storm.
The timing hasn’t changed much. It appears the highest risk of severe weather will be between 9PM Wednesday night and 5AM Thursday morning. With that being said, it’s still fair game that storms could hit earlier in the evening, perhaps as early as 4pm. These would mostly be non-severe.
Rain lingers through the day Thursday, as a cold front stalls out across the area.
