Homesick for a place I never lived. Would come to Beckley with my parents when they visited the Old Place (that my Grandpa built). Love those mountains!

Beckley, West Virginia is a quaint and lovely place and I "still" consider it home - love lives in this town!

I grew up in a suburb of Beckley, and I used to call Beckley, 'Bleakley'. But I was in Glen Morgan, what did I know about bleak? I return to Beckley every year from California to see my parents and friends. And the experience the mountains and rivers. My kids were born in California, but they are half West Virginian, and a quarter Beckley. They love WV. This video is hokey, a little corny, but a fun song. I liked it. Bravo!

I really enjoyed this, My parents are both gone but I still have their house on a hill in Mabscott. I have been gone 25 years now but I visited 2 times a year until my mom passed. I hope to come back soon as I still think of Beckley as home. My dad was the blind man that used to play the Hummingbird guitar in front of Murphy's and sing. I miss those days and Beckley will always be home in my heart.

As a Beckley native who is now a rock musician in Denver, I was totally prepared to scoff and roll my eyes at anything that was produced back in my hometown... Boy, was I wrong. Now I've got this song stuck in my head!! Great job.

Hi Del, thanks to "Beckley Life" magazine I found you and your song. Hipppee. I love this song. I remember those days of downtown Beckley very well. I taught piano lessons at Jan Campbell Music. I ate lunch at GC Murphy's, ate hot grilled donuts at a little diner (can't remember the name) walk down Main St. into the Hardware store and brose. Oh how I love this song. Keep up that talent and God Bless You.

It is a shame so much of Beckley's history has been destroyed to put up gov't buildings and one great big bldg with the prominent family's name on it. Shame. I liked the old Murphy's better. Oh, well.
