Brother Halverson, Never think that WE don't need and love your full and incredible teaching ways. The time you give is the BEST gift and you give it so freely. I appreciate your family for supporting your efforts on our account. We learn more than we ever have in Come Follow Me. Words are not big enough. I have read the D&C many times and often I say to myself after a section. . . Have I even read this Book? WOW. You are a marvelous, clear, and extra-edifying instructor. I, at 71, feel so very fortunate to learn from you. Thank you for eternity. Sheila Somerville

I loved the one word in the scripture ...repent. Coupling that with taking off our sin filled robe and exchanging it for a white one while he takes the red one was a powerful lesson for me to visualize about repentance. Thank you so much!

Thank you another wonderful lesson. It made me think of President Nelson's talk on the need for repentance and that it's a wonderful gift I then wondered what the word "repent" means in Hebrew and Greek. Maybe someone will find this interesting: Hebrew: Teshuva is returning to what is right and pure. It is returning to innocence. Aside from showing regret and remorse, it is returning to the original plan of God. To live with Him, consult with Him, fellowship with Him, and obey Him. It is regretting our sin and showing remorse, yes. The Greek writers used the Greek word metanoeo to refer to repentance. Metanoeo means a change of mind, thought, or thinking so powerful that it changes one's very way of life. ... Both words mean thoroughly changing or turning from evil to God and righteousness.

Bro. Halverson, I loved this lesson! When you were talking about His loving-kindness I was reminded of a definition of loving-kindness in Hebrew that I once came across. Lovingkindness is a word found in older, more traditional versions of the English Bible. The Hebrew word most often translated “lovingkindness” is checed, which literally means “covenant loyalty.”

I watch and listen to several different teachers every week. This week Ben Wilcox said he is related to you. I realize there are many who claim they don’t have time and for some that might be true. Often, I have my ear buds in as I go about my day. This week, among many gems throughout your lesson, the realization that the restored church included ALL PEOPLE, ALL COLORS, ALL CULTURES and pressure from outside the Church forced the negro exclusion that we have been accused of. Thank you for these lessons and for your diligence in the face of adversity. I can’t wait to study the Old Testament and I never thought I would ever say that. You have so beautifully connected us.

On my mission in 1972 we responded to a referral that the church office in SLC received and forwarded to us in Albany Georgia. It was from a 17 year old girl who had seen the Osmonds in a concert and found out they belonged to our church and wanted to know more about the church. We were very doubtful about the sincerity of the person because of her age. However we decided to check it out on one of our slow days. I won't go into everything because it would take to long. What happened was truly incredible. She was so intent on learning more she went to the library and checked out a single copy of the D&C because that was all the had on the church. At the time we met with her she had copied 75 percent of the of the D&C into spiral binders by han because she was

Sorry I was interrupted I will finish about the girl in Georgia. She copied the D&C because she was afraid the library would not allow her to keep checking it out. As we walked up to the her house we could hear her saying in an excited voice "they came they came". She was almost crying as we started to talk to her. The discussions became a formality to baptism three weeks later. My companion and I were both having a hard time holding back the tears when we left. Thanks Gary

Thank you for your time to do this it has really helped me understand and appreciate the Doctrine and Covenants. I’m beginning to really understand that our call to do missionary work and temple work is because this is THE dispensation of the gathering of the living and the dead. As you said there is more on the other side of veil than on this side to be gathered. Thanks to those that came before us we exist and enjoy what we have today. But because of their situations they didn’t have the chance to have the blessings of the temple. Doing some type of family history and temple work is how we can assist in the gathering of the dead. my experience is that FH and temple work is a lot easier and successful than living missionary work the temple blessings given to those we go through will help prepare their descendants to receive the missionaries. Which doubled your efforts

59:00 Aren't gathering and restoring two different ways of bringing the house of Israel back together? As the tenth article of faith states...gathering, which started with beginning of the restoration and continues...but restoring the ten tribes will be different..they will come as a body as their prophets hear and come forth to help in the building of the New Jerusalem... their coming will be more miraculous than the parting of the Red Sea to save the Israelites...they will us prepare for the Glorious Return of our Savior.

Thank you for sharing your time and talents. No need to apologize for the length of your videos. Concerning D&C 134 I agree we must be very careful about dishonoring the station. When we have no respect for the person and their apparent lack of character and integrity is it difficult to not dishonor the station as well? How do we judge righteously those whose actions and words are under the public microscope daily? Do we seek to influence others to “…take advantage of one because of his words…”? Do we support those who “…dig a pit for their neighbor”? We are all responsible to our Maker who “…will abundantly pardon” and may we do the same and not imply a disrespect for the station through our own words and actions.

Kia ora brother Jared. When you were talking about 134:8 I was thinking of my own experience as a jehovahs Witness in my youth. I was disfellowshiped and hard shunned. It wrecked my life. And it's repercussions still reverberate in my life 40 years later. I understand that disfellowshipping does not operate the same way in the church of Jesus Christ nowadays. But I've also heard a heap of stories where hard shunning does happen. I just wondered if you or others had a response to that. ?

Shunning is a sign of ignorance of the laws of God. Find the lost sheep, the lost coin, Unity- if ye are not one, ye are not mine. (Easier said than done) So sorry for what you’ve been through.

I remember that Enos 1:15 states that in a time of great violence, wickedness and hard-heartedness, “. . . there were exceedingly many prophets among us.” (Enos 1:22) Could it be that those teachers who teach exclusively and carefully from the scriptures and the words of our prophets (eg, Brother Halverson) are “many prophets among us”?

To me, the last part about the slaves, about 2:20:00 hinges on the word "human beings" and the fact that governments allowed it. Wasn't one of the compromises that a slave was worth 3/5 of a person? They weren't even considered human beings by southerners. That has always comforted me about this, is the last line is a protest about the enslavement of human beings, no matter what their skin color.

I have friends who are not members of this church. I would like to recommend that they watch this channel since we are studying the Old Testament next year. Since you are so knowledgeable about other religions could you possibly make a discussion on come follow me that would really include other religions?

10:11 But I think we should try to prevent bad things from happening rather than enabling Satan to continue steps downward so that the Savior will come in our time rather than coming in the Lord's time.

At 21 you talk about Zion and babylon. I've never seen the difference until now. From this scripture Babylon is individual, selfish, disconnected. Zion is a body, a covenant collective with its epicenter being Christ, the heart and soul, the bread and water, rooted, together, connected, supported, supportive of one another, not divided, one in mind and body that cannot fall like an individual, a human, alone, swaying with every random thought man presents, unrooted in truth, uncovenanted, disconnected from the true vine and body of Christ.

Oh Brother Jared I have been trying to get young and all people I come across come out of things that God doesn't like and want in his childrens lives, No it doesn't matter what faith your are in. One person, hugged me and let me know that I Care more about her than family and herself. And I give things that her child needs - not being told, sharing stories of the Book Of Mo And teach her how to bake as she cooks other things for me. I'm disabled and she is a great help to me and friend. One of her Great Grand Mothers are in the Church, so I told her we are family in a way. She is trying to stop smoking, and doing more things Not that she was bad before, but she loves the Missionaries and the Church people who she meets . And I tell my children that they need to continue to clean out the music and things that God doesn't want around him

"flee unto the lord" Flee where? Are we leaving our homes, which are also sanctuaries. Prepare what? "Every needful thing". Flee out of Babylon. Lot was actually "fleeing away" from Sodom. Will we be asked to do the same? If asked by the Prophet, and directed by our Bishop, would we be prepared to physically leave in a short time, or would we have to attempt to gather our "every needful things" together? Yes, have your lamps filled with the oil of the Gospel and be prepared for the Bridegroom. Make sure you are worthy of personal revelation. When the "waters are pulled back to the north country" and the Lands become one land, what is going to happen to those that live on those islands? "The earth must return to it's original circumference". Some original land is missing from the earth...where is it? When the continents are pushed back together, there will be a great hole left in the Pacific ocean. What landmass would be big enough to fit in it? The moon? Mars, Venus? Think about the devastation that will happen when this mighty event happens. Things to think about. "Flee unto Zion"

If you consider the term” the Great Deep” in D&C 133 , as the great vastness of the universe,I believe that The Remnant of Jacob were taken from this earth to another planet as was the City of Enoch and the people of Melchizedek were taken up and will each return as a body!

Hi Halverson, I’ve been looking for the picture of Christ in his red robe, riding his white stallion and haven’t been able to find it. I saw it on your podcast. Do you or anyone reading this know the name and/or artist of the painting? Thank you very much for any help you can give me!! I love your podcast and learn so much each time I watch it. Thank you so much for the time and effort you put into it!
