Love the podcast…I listen to it on my bike rides, however, I’ve had to add an additional ride each week to get through each lesson. My rides are limited to about an hour (12-18 miles depending on my legs) every other night and it takes me 4 rides a week now. My wife says you’re not only helping my spiritual side but are helping my physical side as well. You are the best thing that has come out of the COVID world we now live in.

It is prophesied that our great constitution will be hanging by a thread and God's faithful chosen will save it. I want to be one of those. I'm so grateful that you take the time to go in depth and elaborate on doctrine that we might overlook. We have to be diligent in preserving the rights that God has blessed us with. We all need to be better, faithful servants of his vineyard. I love you Brother Jared.

I see some negative comments on the length of your podcast. I want you to know I appreciate your in depth classes. I’ve been in and taught plenty of short class and know that the time only permits hitting the high spots and they become the only parts of the scriptures ever discussed. Your lessons are always full of new information and understanding for me especially in the doctrine and covenants. Not having much background in church history or a huge understanding of the scriptures it’s always been my least favorite of the scriptures. Now I’m starting to appreciate it. A half hour or so at a time. I’m thinking that to prepare and produce these you must spend at least double the time that we see. I know your a very busy man. Thank you for taking the time that I can understand my Savior and church better

I don't understand the complaints. I'm actually glad they aren't shorter!! I can listen a little here and there, throughout the week. And what better use of your time, than this? Watch this, instead of a movie. Listen to this, instead of a podcast. Listen as you make dinner. Listen as you get ready in the morning. Chill on your couch, with your eyes closed, and just listen and enjoy. Put on some headphones and listen while you take a walk around your neighborhood, or hike on a trail. Complain about how long this video is, or free up space in your life for it. It's a good thing to make time for, that's for sure!

Thanks for reinforcing faith while still acknowledging fear. To trust in God as one faces their fears is a test worth taking. I love the great example of the young Joseph F. Smith as he returned to Utah from his mission in Hawaii. He was all alone tending the camp of his fellow travelers somewhere in the desert of CA/NV while they were off hunting. Joseph was warn to stay close to the camp because there was ruffians hunting Mormons in the area. To Joseph's surprise not long after the other left to hunt a mob of ruffians rode in to camp yelling and cursing asking young Joseph if he has seen any Mormons. Joseph jumped saying, I'm a Mormon true and blue... The chief ruffians was so surprised at Joseph's courage he jumped off his horse to shake Joseph's hand as he praised him for having the courage to stand-up for his religion. He then hopped back up on this horse and left with his mob. That was faith and courage in the face of a fearful mob. That type of faith will open the heavens and cause your enemies to flee. Your brother Jared inspire that type of faith in tour listeners.

@@kevdonald1298 I have no problem with him taking as long as he wants. He's already made history as a teacher of LDS scripture. I cannot imagine anyone ever having taught the scriptures more thoroughly. I believe his work will change the Church to some extent. We have all been on different pages of doctrinal knowledge for too long, and many of us yearn for more. Seminary was a long time ago, and those of us who were there at all were not yet adults. Then there are converts who never had the privilege. It is hard to be a good member missionary when one doesn't know one's religion. Brother Halverson provides a solid bridge to that end.

Thank you once again my brother👍. It seems to me that strength always arrives through opposition: Agency is a gift to learn to use wisely through our choices…through our faith to overcome the natural man, we are strengthened to do so, choice by choice…we learn that temptations are overcome by giving them no attention, and we receive strength from the Lord to continue faithful. Even the proving of contraries involves this law….in fact the universe could not exist without opposition. By faithfully choosing what we feel is right

I feel different after 3.5 hrs. Transformed and transported. Finally understand how to read scriptures better. I went to a youth testimony mtg and someone said he was from "the royal generation" and felt sorry for the rest of us, that we did not have that distinction, LOL. Hate to tell him this old lady was told that in the 60's herself. Love the treatise of this!

This is more needful and obviously lacking in government today. We don't have honest, wise or good people running govt. Therefore the skepticism and distrust is justified. And WE must be honest and wise and good enough not to follow or support them. And we've been deceived by the wicked among us for a very long time. We need to change. We need to support those laws that are Constitutional and not follow their wickedness. It's up to us to have courage to stand . DC 98 is one of my most favorite scriptures.

I love these lessons. They have helped me so much. I am so grateful for Brother Halverson and I hope to thank him personally one day. Does anyone know if there is a way to see them in some sort of order? I just look it up on KZbin and random lessons come up. It is always a battle for me to find the latest lesson or a previous lesson

I cherish the idea of God proving us. 1830s Webster’s dictionary “prove” defined as “reveal under experimentation”. Forget the idea of a final test because God already knows our nature and how we will act. Think of this as an educative/learning experience that reveals to OURSELVES how we will respond.

One of the principles of federalism is the states had the right to sucede from the union as a check on federal power. This worked well in 1832 for South Carolina to reign in the federal government. This power was lost because of the civil war and part of the reason the federal government is out of control!

I feel the same!!! This scripture block has more verses in it than any we've done to this point, and as long as we're sticking to the verse-by-verse approach, it makes for a loooong lesson! I'll definitely have to change the approach next year in the Old Testament since verse-by-verse will be impossible, but I've wondered if I might need to start making that shift earlier!

@@Unshaken I love the word by word, verse by verse approach! As long as you have strength to share your spirit and insight, I will find a way to listen to both! 3 hrs can fly by like it's nothing. 3 hours a week is less than 30 minutes a day. The benefit of taking the time to listen to you far outweigh any sacrifice of time. Please don't give heed to those who can't figure out a way to take the time to study with you while sacrificing part of your message for wise men who do.
