I didn’t think I’d have tears but I did. Right now I have 2 quilts in my car for Project Linus and am ready to sandwich a third. I LOVE making Project Linus quilts. From beginning to end I think of the joy and smile on the face of the recipient and I say a prayer for whoever receives the quilt. Im also part of a prayer quilt ministry at my church and make quilts for that also. When my late husband had cancer he received prayer shawls from a few of his churches ( he was a retired pastor) and they meant so much to him. While at home on hospice care I laid the prayer shawls all around him to remind him that he was surrounded by prayers. Those prayer shawls meant so much to him and to me. (BTW you are very gifted speaker. ). Again thank you for this meaningful video. Maureen central PA

Thank you so much Maureen! I have also made prayer shawls after receiving one when we lost our grandson. Isn't it amazing that we can feel the power of those kind gestures of handmade hugs! I'm so sorry about your husband - but very glad that he also felt the warmth and love from the prayers offered. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and for watching!

I can't wait for your sewist Advent calendar. Best idea on the internet. Better than the 12 quilts of Christmas from last year. With your plan everyone can win! Keep up the creative work you do.

Oh Mary. I cried as well. This really touched the heart. In the beginning I put the tied card to my PL label to my donated blankets. Then, stopped. Mine included my email and I did receive “thank you” emails and a couple of pictures of the child with my blanket. It did touch me, but then, I stopped and PL just attaches a blanket card. After watching this I’m going back to including my email. Didn’t realize that I’m taking the opportunity away from my recipients who might want to thank me. So looking forward to your “25 days of Christmas”. Thank you for all you do. Also, got all my blocks completed after a huge delay this year so anxiously awaiting Saturday.

Thank you so much for your work you do in Project Linus. I had two grandchildren who were in a high school that had an active shooter (another student), one of the first of the school shooting. Project Linus gave each student a quilt 🥰! I shall always be grateful to what you do and all those involved in this special group. At the time I was working in another school as a secretary in the same town, and saw the devastation this shooting did to the whole town, again thank you so much for you and your group!

You're so welcome and I'm so very sorry about the experience your grandchildren had. Thankfully Project Linus blankets do offer comfort in a very special way - I'm so happy the students were able to receive quilts. I believe it does make a difference. Thank you for sharing.

Hi, Mary. I've watched several of your tutorials/pod casts, but just caught this one and would truly like the pattern for the bread basket. Having retired from the court system, the letter from the 19-year-old young woman truly touched my heart, as I heard many similar stories in my work. Bless you and other quilters who provide comfort quilts for those who have been traumatized by such horrific experiences. The young woman is in my prayers.

Hi Mary. As so many others have said, I didn’t think I would cry but the tears just flowed. It prompted me to contact a nearby Project Linus Chapter. I hope to get my church quilters group involved as we love making charity quilts. I agree also that you are a gifted speaker and person. So motivating and inspiring. God bless you and all you do!

Oh my! Thank you once again for a great podcast! I lost a dear friend to suicide many years ago so understand the hurt that it causes to ones left behind. Many more details I will leave but this makes me so much more interested in trying to gift blankets to PL in my area!
