There are some holes in the discharge pipe off of the induced draft blower that may be letting enough flu gas into the burner compartment to contribute to tripping that rollout switch.

Was wondering if you did a smoke test on the hx to see definitely if it was gone? Sometimes those holes can be misleading. The unit is mostly in good shape except the hx. But I trust your judgment and knowledge. Good luck on the new install. Hope to see install pics. Thank you for the video

It's funny when home owners doesn't know what kind of equipment they have or where its located.I remember once i had to check a mini split in a basement of a big house and only the 17 yr old son was at home and when i asked how can i go to the basement he said "basement?what basement? we dont have basement.

Probably a good move from the custumer with letting you install a new unit. Even though I do not like rtu's on residential homes on the ground at all only on roofs as that what they are meant for. As for the existing unit charging with mo 99 is not enough for me to condemn it even though I do not like mo 99 at all so my question would have been considering your pallets of r 22 Ted. was is that the original compressor or not with mineral oil or a home warranty replacement which would have poe oil in it. And if it were a replacement compressor could you then unsweat the compressor remove the poe oil then fill it with mineral oil since you can still get it I have seen it I think on Amazon. Then remove the mo 99 recover it and replace it with r 22 to bring it back to factory specs. And Ted the only reason I am thinking that way and might be a future option is because of what's going on now with phazeout of now 410a. The only other viable option if the unit is not leaking refrigerent would be r 458a and that works way better than mo 99. But Ted test it on some of your old r22 equipment first. I know blueon's patent is expiring soon on that and I dont think r 458a is bieng phazed out either and that to me would be the solution for all this r22 410a. Mumbo jumbo.

looked like a long crack hidden under the rust at 8:32 more around the radius at 8:45 and yet more at 9:11 . yep, she's done 😬

Not related,but I just put a gas valve in a 1972 Janitrol furnace,50 years old and runs ok! Its actually not in bad shape. Thx for the video

Hole/cracks in the heat exchanger causing flame rollout. Also as someone else mentioned could be holes in the inducer exhaust adding heat to the burner box which could have tripped the rollout switch.
