T'Challa's origins in the comics wasn't just him needing to challenging his uncle for the throne of king though. Like the MCU, his comic origins was also driven by tragedy because his father - T'Chaka was abruptly killed by Ulysses Klaw (unlike Zemo in the MCU) after refusing to share the Vibranium with him. So because there was no king and T'Challa was too young at the time to rule, his uncle had to rule in his stead until he was old enough.

For all the initial struggles in the MCU due to rights issues, I do really like what they did with the origin of the Scarlet Witch title. MCU turning "the Scarlet Witch" into a mythical/prophetic title from the darkhold for a chaos magic wielder more powerful than the sorcerer supreme adds to the character's legend/bada*sary, explains her hero name in a really neat way, and also conveniently introduces it in a way that doesn't clash with their having (due to all the rights stuff) not let any of the characters say it in the MCU prior. All the behind the scenes stuff may have hit her origin somewhat compared to the comics, but all things considered I think they did a good job with Scarlet Witch and definitely added to the origin of her name :)

I don't really get why people say that Spider-man's origin story is his uncle Ben dying or NWH. No. His origin story is him being bitten by the radioactive spider and having the spiderpowers. Everything that comes after are his JOURNEY AS SPIDER-MAN. So the MCU Spider-man just explored that journey more and changed some of them to fit in the current MCU. Spider-Tom had a different mentor, had different experiences, different failures, different struggles and different triumphs. He was SPIDER-MAN IN ALL OF THOSE JUST AS TOBEY MAGUIRE AND ANDREW GARFIELD ARE SPIDER-MAN THE MOMENT THEY GOT THEIR POWERS. They just have different paths since the MCU is a much bigger universe than Sony was prepared to give Tobey and Andrew.
@firemen23attack3 жыл бұрын
I get what you’re saying, but for some, an origin story would include everything that led up to that person becoming a superhero and not just getting their powers. Like yeah, Peter was bit by the spider and got powers, but he didn’t become spiderman right after that. It was a combination of his powers, uncle Ben dying, and choices he made that lead him to being spider man.
@JemsAndSuch3 жыл бұрын
@@firemen23attack I get that and understand it completely. What I don't get are people who complain **too much** about Marvel's choices in their MCU Spider-man and treating Tom's spidey as 'not a real spider-man' in Homecoming just because his 'origin' wasn't the same as Tobey's or Andrew's when Tom's literally just showed his worthiness of the title the moment he still went after the bad guys even without a proper suit. Some even keep on saying "He's finally Spider-man" after NWH which is just shallow thinking and understanding of Spider-Man as a character too. Btw, I hope my reply doesn't sound aggressive. I disagree, I see his origin as the build up of actually being a hero and in the comics they show this because originally Peter was a nerdy jerk in the comics and we see him go from using his powers for money to him wanting to actually help people. Am i the only one thinking that the comic origin of Captain America is better cause it makes more sense? like they spent a ton of money to develop the serum why the fuck would you sideline a super soldier made by that serum? I think what they did in the MCU is just to add drama.
@LargeMetallicFellow2 жыл бұрын
I think an honorable mention for "comics did it better" is Carol Danvers, considering she was Miss Marvel before she was Captain Marvel, and in the comics she was part-Kree. The test pilot origin was poorly written.

MCU hulk is frustrating, they started great with Edward Norton, his version was more darker and I loved it, it felt like the comic, I like mark ruffalo hulk, he has some great and awesome moments, but he’s used too much as comic relief. I want to see the dark and twisted story of the hulk, we almost had it in Hulk 2003, I love that movie, yes it has lots of flaws but it’s the closest to the comics.
@murk45523 жыл бұрын
They can't repeat what others did in past movies, gotta try something else besides "make it darker" doesn't mean better writing or more creative.

Speaking just for me, I much preferred the comic book origins of Ultron and Vision to the MCU. Comic book Ultron was genuinely scary - virtually indestructible, gleefully malevolent, and with a deeply rooted "Oedipus Complex" to boot.
@arcadiaberger92043 жыл бұрын
Unable to use the word "mutant", I think Wanda and Pietro should have been referred to as "marvels". Doctor Strange's origin in the film was his original origin. The android Human Torch had nothing to do with the Fantastic Four. CBR should get an actual Marvel Comics reader to vet the scripts for MCU videos.

@@ultramanCL I know and I’m so happy about it (minus Hulk tho, they did him dirty..) I was talking about how Joss would’ve ruin Infinity War like he ruined Justice League
@ultramanCL3 жыл бұрын
@@TitanTankerGaming Hulk wasn't ruined. The plot demanded a character to reverse snap, and needed a stable minded individual to do it. Hulk was the only one who could've done that as his body could only absorb most of the radiation of the infinity gems. But, I know they could've added a rematch of him vs Thanos where hulk would be enraged due to Natasha's death and would beat Thanos. But with his hand damaged, he couldn't have lasted longer in the fight. So they prevented bringing Hulk and Thanos face to face. Talking about the future, the future of Hulk looks very bright as Marvel Studios are planning a World War Hulk Storyline. That would be a redemption for the great character of The Incredible Hulk! Now about the DCEU drama, Joss surely added bad things to the movie but Warner Bros ordered him to make it like light hearted as Avengers and they wanted the Marvel-fication of DCEU. I blame Warner Bros more than Joss for that.

@@revoltpuppy I think one of the main reasons I loved AoU so much was because we got to see both the creation and the end of a villain who's intentions were initially good. Ultron was such an interesting villain because of his innocence. He truly thought that by destroying humans, he was preventing humans from going to war with each other. He was correct in a literal sense but was incapable of looking at the situation from an emotional and non literal perspective. It was all kind of sad

Vision's origin in cómics had to do with human torch android. They couldn't use fantastic four because they didn't owned the rights. Same with mutans. Fox had the rights of both of them. There have been a lot of rumors as to why they changed actors, but no official reason that I have been able to find. The most reliable rumors are that Terrance would not agree to the salary that was offered and that he and RDJ had personality conflicts and did not get along.

Where to start.. First of all.. the IRon Man origin in the MCU is pretty damn close to the comics. The Hulk origin is so off base it's incredible. His origin came from him saving Rick Jones from and experimental Gamma bomb that was about to explode. Had nothing to do with the super soldier serum. The first Spider-Man movie was pretty much on par. Hawkeye became a SHIELD agent AFTER the Avengers and in-between the Vanegers West Coast and had never met or worked with Black Widow beforehand. Captain America was close as he was an experiment that actually went right. Thor was made mortal and transformed into a slightly crippled doctor with a limp to teach him humility and his hammer was turned into a cane. Thanos was exiled due to his cruel nature by his father. Nothing happened to his people. And as for the sternals... they got it ALL wrong.. Ikaris was the leader and then deferred to Athena. Jax was NEVER the leader of the Eternals amd MPME pf the Eteranals was deaf or mute.
