Thank you bro for being an actual helpful comic recommender not like channels such as near mint condition and that one marvel guy probably not gona get ghost machine stuff soon planing on getting more godzilla comics plus some DC stuff I still need to read I was hoping you would bring up g.i. joe energon universe specifically cobra commander solo series pretty nerves to check those out
@TheRealComicBookGamer3 ай бұрын
The Cobra Commander and Duke mini series were both pretty good I just didn't recommend them because they already ended by time I recorded this. Destro is two issues in and I like it so far but it's not good enough for me to recommend. Scarlett however is horrible, do not touch that comic.

If you like Thor, Al Ewing's Immortal Thor is the best that book's been since JMS. And Venom's been one of the best comics coming out of Marvel consistently for a few years now, which is mind boggling to me.

I didn't bother picking up Venom after Cates' run ended but I might go check it out now.

The only comics I've being reading recently and would recommend are Spider Gwen and A Certain Scientfic Railgun (yes, technically this is a manga but its great and extremely underrated). I'd heard mostly negative things regarding the Spider Gwen series. However after having read most of the original run by Jason Latour I'd say the series is surpisingly good overall. Gwen's character and her relationship to Peter as well as other support characters is greatly explored, much more so then in the Spider verse films.Latour also does a great job for the most part making the Spider Gwen universe feel distinct without overcommitting to where it feels stupid. Robbi Rodriguez's art whilist simpilistic gives the universe a unique look and vibe. My probelms are mainly that issues 2 and 3 are weaker then the rest of the series and the art is inconsistant due to Rodriguez only covering 3 out of the 5 parts to each issue. A Certain Scientific Railgun is set in the fictional city of Academy City. Academy City is essentially like the school for the X-men just a lot more nuanced. Unlike other series and shows the supernatural abilites in Railgun more or less cohere to real world phyiscs. The series follows Mikoto Misaka who can harness and wield electricity as she uncovers various illegal and inhuman experiments involving espers (humans with supernatural abilities). Misaka in contrast to many manga protagists is quite compelling. She has her own eccentries, flaws and strengths. The issues and themes Railgun tackles is handled quite well and effectively I think. The artwork by Fuyukawa Motoi is quite good also. My main issue is with the fan service which is sparse and quite inoccent thankfully but nonethless annoying. If you can overlook that though it's a really good series. I intend to check out Incredible Hulk and Ultimate Spiderman as both stories seem interesting and the art looks incredible. I also might read though the Zod book dispute the fact I've never being a huge Superman fan.

I tend to stick with DC Books, mostly because they tend to have more good books. I’d say anything Superman is pretty good Joshua Williamson has had a fun run and the art by Jamal Campbell is my favorite artist for a Superman book. I like Dan Mora but I wish that Campbell stayed on Superman. While I’m annoyed that PKJ Action Comics run ended I’ve loved the filler arcs with Jason Aaron and Gail Simone which have been a ton of fun. Batman/Superman World’s Finest is a fun slice of life book that is amazing. Although since Mark Waid is on this book, I wish we had a fresh face on Action Comics in October when the new ongoing writers start. The final Superman book I’d recommend is Kneel Before Zod which is amazing and dives into a ton of Zod’s relationships. To me The Batman books have been hit or miss. I feel books like Batman and Robin and Nightwing have great moments, and then some terrible moments, with others just being painfully dull (Chip Zdarsky Batman) Some other books that I enjoy are Wonder Woman by Tom King, Green Lantern by Jeremy Adams, Green Lantern: War Journal by PKJ, Green Arrow by Joshua Williamson, Teen Titans: World’s Finest by Mark Waid, and Titans by Tom Taylor.

I’ve made a list of comics that I plan on picking up. I’ve been picking up a ton of DC, with Marvel’s i’ve been more conservative, but Fantastic Four, Ultimate Spider-Man, Ultimate Black Panther, Hulk, Captain America, Phoenix, and Ultimates are all a lot of fun. P.S. is Thor any good, I’ve debated picking up Thor since I liked the Donny Cates run.

I'm excited for Batman and Robin by Philip Kennedy Johnson. I really want to get into Ghost Machine comics. Just need to find out what I need to pick up exactly to catch up.
@TheRealComicBookGamer3 ай бұрын
For Redcoat and Rook Exodus it's easy, just start with issue #1 and there's only 4 issues out right now so you can catch up fast. With Geiger there's two other series before the current on going. First series is all collected in 1 volume and it's $10, the prequel series Geiger Ground Zero hasn't been collected yet but it's only 2 issues. Then you got the current series which is 4 issues in at the moment.

_Green Lantern_ hasn't been getting enough love from readers. The book should be at least in the top thirty in the sales charts, but it can't break the top fifty. And man, _USM_ is so fucking good, and such a shot in the arm to the Spider-Books given that _ASM_ and the 616 _status quo_ are total garbage.
