@6666 Given the position here, there were more heroes coming in. David could've chosen to stall. He is fairly capable when he wants to be. But the issue is that he got afraid and then hid. Other heroes ran in knowing they couldn't stop him. But they understood they needed to stall for time. The story proved that all that time, he had been playing pretend hero. He wasn't willing to own up to his mistakes or sacrifice himself. This isn't DC being hypocritical. This is them showing the difference between a hero and someone who is not. A hero will take often the hard road seldom walked and sacrifice themselves at the drop of a hat for someone innocent. That's why you can look at Iron Man and see him as a hero with all the poor choices and mistakes he's made. It would be easy for the Justice League to "do what it takes" to regin in crime. But that also has consequences, like removing people's free will and choice. Just thinking about it, but there might've also been a way for him to take Apocolypse away with him to another place in the multiverse.

That was well before my time, but from what I can remember from watching reruns on Boomerang as a kid in the 2000s, I was not impressed. Edit: Just looked up his scenes. Frank lacks the subtle eloquence and threatening tone of Michael Ironside. Ironside just has a smoother voice, befitting a God king. Honestly, Frank's Darkseid sounds more like a chainsmoker in need of a lozenge.

The Kingdom Come Dick Grayson became Red Robin I think. He and Starfire had a daughter. In the Earth-2 continuity Bruce cleans up Gotham, retires, marries Selena Kyle, has a daughter, becomes Police Commissioner. Dick Grayson basically keeps the Robin identity into adulthood.

@@siyasithole7995 In theory, I agree with that, but I think that’s definitely the weakest aspect of this story- the other heroes were on their way, but Darkseid already beat _two_ Supermen just by looking at them, and wasted Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, two Batmen, and the Flash with little more effort. What were the other heroes going to do at that point besides get roflstomped, too? The story contrived David to only having *_one_* option, which was killing Gog to stop an obviously OP Darkseid from getting the Anti-Life Equation and subjugating all of existence, and then had the other heroes gang up on him in a moral outrage for taking “the easy way out.” A better way to do this would have been to not have Darkseid show up at all, and have David betray and blast Gog in the back, killing him in a dirty way, thinking he was doing the right thing because the heroes - while able to put up a good fight - appeared to be failing to stop Gog because they were pulling their punches, or letting their code get in the way of stopping a universe-ending threat, even though we know that these guys should have been able to take Darkseid, if push came to shove. As it is, I’m not siding with the heroes, here. The story made Darkseid look unbeatable, David make a clutch choice, everyone yell at him, and then he gets petulant and indignant, rather than accept that he took someone’s life, but only did so because there were no other options.

The Flash can travel through time without The Cosmic Treadmill (TCT). What the TCT does is give him precision so he can travel to a specific time as long as it is properly calibrated. In an attempt to meet his idol, The Flash (Barry Allen), The Reverse-Flash (TRF) once used it but it wasn't properly calibrated so he undershot his destination by 10 years, during the time that Wally West was The Flash. TRF discovered that Barry Allen killed him and this led to him becoming the enemy of The Flash.

I really feel that while David was immature, his call to kill Gog to prevent Darksei from gaining a portion of the anti-life equation was absolutely the right call. That’s not an “easy way out.” That’s a hard call that’s made in war. If you’re a hero capturing bank robbers, that’s one thing. If you’re in the middle of a battle that has free will on the line, that’s something else entirely. And it really feels like the Supermen and Batmen’s indignation is self righteous fluff and hypocrisy instead of a “correct stance.”

DC was pretty aware on how to use Gog and Magog along with the end of the world with the coming of Darkseid and an unfortunate war that killed every faction. this darkseid reminded me of Original RE3 Nemesis, just tanked physical punches and pretty much pimp slapped everyone away, minus the angry obsession to kill specific targets, this Darkseid was pretty cool, he came in, he left very calculated and the fact he left makes it sound like he could come back at any time to kill everyone

This is darkseid done right. He’s cold and quiet in the most dominant way possible. He shows up, drops the most powerful guys in the room, goes to get what he wants, and leaves when it’s not possible anymore. He could’ve killed every superhero on the earth right then and there but it wasn’t in the scope of his plan, so he simply says “you know if I wanted you dead you would be” and leaves. Just a chilling depiction of his power and his inevitability.

For World’s Finest 20, I like that we get to see Barry Allen Flash traverse the entire DC multiverse (pre-Crisis, Imaginary Stories, pre-Flashpoint, Hypertime, post-Flashpoint, Elseworlds, etc.) and him telling Superman and Batman that Boy Thunder is in the Kingdom Come Universe. Also, Superman and Batman seeing their Kingdom Come selves attending the funeral of the fallen heroes and them going to Planet Krypton to eat and have a chat. For World’s Finest 21, I like that the Original Earth-One/New Earth/Prime Earth Superman and Batman tried to convince Boy Thunder (now Thunderman) to reform before they were attacked by their Kingdom Come selves and the heroes of Kingdom Come. Also, Bruce confronting Clark when he’s angry. For World’s Finest 22, it’s impressive and epic that the Earth-One/New Earth/Prime Earth Clark Kent Superman and Bruce Wayne Batman have to battle David Thunderman, Gog, and the entire Kingdom Come superheroes. Also, the Original Superman and Batman learning about Gog’s backstory via Kingdom Come Metron (meaning that this series is now set in the early 70s) and the Kingdom Come Superman and Batman teaming up with them to stop Gog. For World’s Finest 23, The great things about this comic are the Original Earth-One/New Earth/Prime Earth Superman and Batman convincing Magog to reform with help from their Kingdom Come counterparts, Gog explaining his backstory and why he made Magog his disciple, Magog turning back on Gog after learning the truth and recruiting all the heroes of the Kingdom Come universe to aid him and help Superman and Batman, and the final page revealing Darkseid planning to use the Anti-Life Equation to take over the Kingdom Come universe. Let’s hope that the next issue will be a great one. For World’s Finest 24, the great things about this comic are the Earth-One/New Earth/Prime Earth Superman and Batman (and other heroes) trying to defeat Darkseid before Darkseid left after witnessing David kill Gog and Batman telling Superman that every world needs a Superman. Even though the battle is over, I know that the Earth-One/New Earth/Prime Earth Superman and Batman and the Kingdom Come heroes tell David that the consequences are dire for it to happen and that he became a weapon instead of a hero. At least when the Kingdom Come Spectre shows up, he tells the Earth-One/New Earth/Prime Earth Superman and Batman what happened to David (i.e. Kingdom Come) before they told David decades in the future to try and be better, which results in David taking Superman’s advice to become a better person. Also, final page showing Magog’s future becoming a bright one.
