I can understand where you are coming from but at the same time, if his life in comics was all rainbows and butterflies (in a manner of speaking, that is), the comics really wouldn’t sell… So, his character has to suffer for comic book entertainment- plus just a fictional character so, I don’t feel “bad” for saying as much.. I think this Spider-Man concept is interesting however… And given the jerk his character can often be in these comics, the new personality suits him…. Talking of that time he STOLE from Mr Fantastic for his own needs.. Also after Norman had that change, even now in this one, not treating *Normal* Norman Osborn right/ well… Often the character makes me feel like he deserves the bad stuff that happens to him…

Yeah this can be seen as "retribution" moment, but I can already see the fallout of this instance. Osborn gets a pass because if anyone critiques him they'd have to hold Peter by the same standard. Spiderman's name will be tarnished due to his acts, he'll regret all the lives he has taken (I doubt everyone survived his literal bombs in the tunnel), and I'm sure he'll probably retire from spiderman or some stuff.

For one of Marvel's golden boy fan favorites in Spider Man and Peter Parker, I hate that they put him in this perpetual state of "We will NEVER let Peter be happy." I know there are some that exist, plenty even, but I cannot think of a story in which Peter isn't tormented by the power he has. Hell, comparing him to Batman, at least he has a consistent reliable outlet with the Bat Family and at the very least, Alfred. In the stories with Peter, he either has MJ who is a "maybe I love him, maybe I don't", Gwen Stacy who...let's face it, got the Kraven treatment without the alive part, or Aunt May who "doesn't know" he's SM. He has Miles, but that's it. I don't count the Avengers and Fantastic Four because they aren't really friends as much as hero allies. Again, I know instances where he is happy. Like when he and Mary got married and had a daughter. I know the stories exist, but that's far and inbetween. Edit: Typo

Johnny storm is supposed to be one of his best friends but they never do anything with it anymore. Probably most recently due to when the FF was simply not being written anymore. But even before that, his friendship with Johnny was one of the best of all his friends/allies they just barely ever used it. They axed Fantastic Four because Disney didn't own it. It's why they made a push to remove mutants because Fox owned them... And then brought them back when Disney bought Fox. Sadly any friends Peter has must be removed, revoked, or written out. Seriously the only reliable friend he had now is Dead pool... I think the grossest part about this is Peter antagonizing MJ and Paul, and the writers banking on their audience hoping that Paul and mostly MJ get theirs. A futures where Myphisto almost won but May Day Parker (Spider-Girl) was the one who was about to stop him. Would be interesting if Peter holds Paul over the bridge like Norman did to Gwen. In his other hand, he holds the Spear that could be used to cure Peter and revert him back to how he was. He drops both, and MJ goes to save Paul, but fails. Both Paul *and* the Spear break. From here, I imagine we could reference that infamous Spiderman comic and have Mephisto get involved. But this time, its Mary Jane that makes the deal. Mephisto makes Peter normal again, resurrects Paul, and the events of this latest run are effectively reversed. Meaning Norman has his sins back, and Paul/Mary Jane forget each other, their kids cease to exist. Mary Jane would be livid at Peter, if she remembered these events happened. Instead, Peter proposes to MJ on the spot, feeling in the back of his head that he should or else MJ might end up with another man. She accepts, but some small part of her mind remembers the deal she made, and the consequences of it.
