Garry Ingraham grew up in a strict Christian home but struggled with same-sex attraction and pornography, leading him to leave Bible College and embrace a gay identity. Feeling empty, he eventually surrendered his life to Christ and found acceptance and restoration in a supportive church. He eventually ended up getting married (his wife also came out of LGBTQ+ community), and in this video, he shares part of his story, but he also shares valuable insights about his journey and the dark side of an identity without Christ.

Awsome video. The church is broken and our families are broken. These issues are old, not new. I pray for healing of our brothers and sisters in Christ to be brave and learn God's love. We need each other to radically love. However we need teachers to show us the way because what is unfamiliar often times feels scary. And then we pull away.

The problem with natural law is that we can’t agree on what it is, because even if everyone is honest, learning what is good and what is evil can potentially take a long time. That’s why God’s ethics/laws are light. But we have a Deuteronomy 6:24 duty to explain how it is that God’s laws are for our good always - connecting to our experience in the world, what we find to be good and evil. I have come to see the book of Proverbs as an extensive example of a parent doing this for a child. And clearly, the method applies to anyone, not just to children.

If Garry would have said that God/Jesus/Holy Spirit changed him, transformed his sexuality to where he miraculously didn't feel homosexual anymore, I would have believed it was real. But the fact that it sounds like Garry is choosing to be heterosexual, I think is tragic. The Lord does remove lust from born-again believers so that they are not white knuckling anything in that regard. So, if God didn't make people homosexual, why wouldn't He transform His homosexual followers? The Bible is pretty vague about homosexuality. WHY are there gay animals if it's unnatural?? God wants us to be happy and fulfilled, so if someone is born gay and literally feels repulsed at the thought of sex with the opposite sex, I can't accept that my God would condemn them to a life with the opposite sex. There's SO much more to say. All I can say is I look forward to meeting with our Creator one day and talking to Him about all this so that I can truly understand.

@@judyactonayala A life of celibacy and chastity is welcomed as well, for anyone regardless of sexuality. God can do all things, but we must trust in His plan and His will, even when it doesn’t feel fair to us. Read 2 Corinthians 12 “Paul’s Vision and His Thorn” I think it could reveal insight if you are willing. I often ask God why I am not cured of my permanent disability doctors say there is no cure for, but I know God can heal me any moment He so chooses. We must continue to love and trust in Him through all trials and tribulations, and rejoice in them. ❤️

@@honeybun3492 Exactly! We are in agreement and have the same understanding here. But there is so much we don’t know and God does not want us to put limitations on Him, if that makes sense! He is so much greater than even the Bible. I know He welcomes my questions and queries and doubts about certain things. You and I could probably have a long conversation about sexuality. Do you know the reason He destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah? I bet you don’t! And no one has ever been able to answer the question of why some animals are gay if it’s unnatural. I am very open to being wrong. Like you and all real Christians, all I care about is God's Will! 🤍
@honeybun3492
@honeybun3492 13 сағат бұрын
@@judyactonayala I’ve actually read Bible front to back and know Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed because not one righteous person was found to be there! They sinned all kinds of sins. As for animals, this world is fallen. Not just humans. Humans sinning have ruined the whole earth. I think in the Bible it states that in the new Heaven and Earth, animals won’t eat one another but rather plants. Even before the flood I think humans were vegan/vegetarian. I could be wrong but from my Bible studies I think that’s the case. I do think God is greater than the Bible and that the Bible just simplifies it for us, and praise Him that He’s willing to do that for us!! There’s so much mystery in the universe and I am excited to be in God’s plan! I hope when I am found to be wrong I can correct my thinking and praise God for a soft heart willing to change!
