The droids received somewhat of their own version of Order 66 (with their orders being to "deactivate"). I'm sure there was some delay between the clone orders and droid orders that would make your scenario possible. I know that there was one group of droids on Agamar that didn't deactivate, because they assumed the orders were a republic trick (this group is featured in the Rebels series).

Bacara didn't execute order 66 immediately because of the situation he was when he recieved it. In the report on ki adi mundis death he wrote that he was happy with it because the jedi led his brothers to die, and betrayed them, even adding that he'd have done that much earlier if he realised

I really wish we got Mygeeto in SWBF2. Imagine DICE's stunning graphics and frostbite engine with their artistic talent on Mygeeto. It would've looked beautiful. Heavy snow, they could've added galactic marine skins for the clones, possibly added Ki-Adi-Mundi as a playable character and the Tri-droids for the separatists. One thing i never noticed in the clip of Mundi being shot was that one of the galactic marines actually dodges a deflected blaster shot. you can see it at about 4:04-4:05, It's the third marine in the middle behind bacara. I don't think i've ever seen anyone actually dodge a blaster shot before, So i found it very impressive. I suppose it makes sense given how the galactic marines were extremely experienced and talented soldiers, even among clones, But still. Glad i watched this video to notice that.

The Order 66 novel was great because it gave insight into what the clones thought about the order to kill the Jedi, and gave them more agency to choose what to do. Still prefer this over the inhibitor chips added by the Clone Wars series.

I absolutely hate the idea of clones resisting the order. Following it without question and hesitation is what makes order 66 so raw and emotional, because the betrayal is so blunt and brutal. Like the 501st journals say, I'd imagine some clones to question it and have some treacherous thoughts. But outright nearly refusing and holding themselves back on a physical level? That's too much. As much as I adore the clone wars, I can also hate it for making the clones appear more human. It makes them seem a lot less scary when you turn them from killing machines and disposable soldiers into real people with individual personalities. What can I say, sometimes less really is more.

Order 66. F is the 6th letter in the alphabet, often used to pay respects for when someone gets owned. Therefore Order 66 is the equivalent of FF, which means friendly fire.
