There is also a great performance of this group with this song on stage without cuts (at some dance contest) - and it is incredible as well - the way they do almost exactly the same stuff but very ingeniously in one take. They are fantastic through and through! (The video is named "CDK | Showcase | World of Dance Eindhoven 2024".)

My daughter is a former dancer and I LOVE dance. When we first watched this, her comment was that “It is so believable.” It’s such an apt description. I cannot get enough of this song with this dance. I watch it almost daily. There is so much going on, and it never gets old because you can concentrate on particular individuals each viewing. I cannot imagine the work it took to pull this off. Watching the slide along the line, where as you noted the guy carrying the woman - subtly distracts from the other guy pulling a woman from the back. I cannot think of anything I've watched with both the unity and individuality harmonizing so well. This is next level creativity.

I'm love dance though I'm not a professional. And so much of what you said was like so on point in the critique. The girl In velvet...also how they took time to slow it down amongst the energy all around. How thier was balance between sincrinized dance and fluid expression. They left room for the audience to soak it all in with so much going on. A big thing in there movement with the song that was so important and thats" now your just somebody that I use to know. " so many of thier expressions reminded me of a clock. Tick tock tick tock ....when they pulled thier rounded arms out....back and forth....it reminded me of a Grand father clock or those balls in a line psychiatrist use to get thier patients into a trance. The point is...Time passes......and now they are just someone you pass on the street though you recognize each other. I've never been so amazed by a group of dancers.

CDK is a Hip-Hop group and they are very well known in the Hip-Hop community and award winners. However, I'm not surprised that you didn't know who they were, because I believe the majority of dancers stick with our own communities. For instance, I used to assist in teaching social ballroom in my local community under studio owners that taught from 1935 (way before I was born) to 2005 when the last family member retired. I run the FB group for that and though there are hundreds of students that came from that studio, it's still very local, so the FB group is private. However, what I'm more currently involved in with dance is West Coast Swing (WCS), which is world wide, and although I'm not a pro, I did become well known in the community for a newsletter I used to write that went from being read locally to my having subscribers from all over the world solely from word-of-mouth recommendations, so that's the community I'm a part of and know about. As for this particular piece from this group, they call it Hip-Hop, but to me, it felt like a fusion of contemporary, hip-hop, and jazz. I agree about the surprises. I was mesmerized watching it and was impressed with the precision, unison, camera work, and editing. My only criticisms would be that 1. they cut the end of the video a moment or two too soon, so the song didn't finish, which I found dissatisfying, and 2. they didn't complete the reason for the umbrella, which they did do when they preformed this piece live at the World Of Dance competition (which there is also a video of on YT and I suggest you watch that one as well). You ought to check out West Coast Swing for a possible reaction video. I suggest you start with watching a YT video titled "WOTP PRO SHOW 10 Years Anniversary 2022 West Coast Swing." I'm not suggesting you react to that particular video, because it's a little over 18 minutes long, but that will give you an idea of how versatile WCS is as a dance. If you do decided to watch it, look for the long comment I typed up and click the see more, because I compiled the names of all the dancers, the country where each dancer is from (several couples are from 2 different countries, and in a couple of instances married to each other), the name of the song that each couple is dancing to, and the time in the video where each couple has their solo. (There is 1 couple that does not do West Coast Swing (WCS).)
