Actually you don't have to kill the raccoon(s), you could just use a live trap. It's a cage that poses no harm to the animal that gets trapped. You simply add bait inside the cage, the raccoon goes in, and they can't get out. These cages do have a feature of release. So you can transport the raccoon let's say 20 miles away, and release the raccoon in the woods. I'm unsure as to where you can buy these cages in the US, as I'm in Canada, and I can rent one or buy one from SPCA, or TNR(Trap, Neuter, Release). The downfall about these cages is you could catch a cat instead who was just hungry. But at least you can release them too. Just thought I would mention this, as I've recommended it to a friend who has chickens as well.

I have heard that you also dislike the sound of your own voice because it's not as "pure" as others hear it because it has to be reprocessed by your brain....or has been processed by whatever send the sound back? Most people very much dislike the sound of their own voice (myself included). As someone who worked as a pa, you can google, just take everything you read with a grain of salt. There are a lot more factors in diagnosing people then just outward symptoms. I highly recommend second and 3rd opinions if you feel like your doctor is wrong. Also googling the dx after you get one is probably better for your mental health.

According to an anthropology class I took: Modern humans all have a large dose of pyromaniac in us. Nearly every animal across the planet runs as fast as they can away from fire and we used to do the same (obvi it’s dangerous). But due to our early ancestors discovering how to use it (mostly warding off predators), transport it, and cook with it (massive caloric gains), natural selection has selected for humans that are pyromaniacs and enjoy playing with fire lol.

A doctor telling someone to stop googling stuff is because the person will often diagnose themselves with different things they don’t actually have and then not listen to the doctor. However, on the flip side of this, I’ve heard of so many cases where doctors missed stuff, and actually someone would kind of figure out what they likely had from researching, and it turned out they were right. I wouldn’t suggest just listening to a doctor, because there are a lot of cases where they miss stuff or don’t do enough testing. In some cases, it actually costs people their life.

Some doctors just say don't worry about it just lose weight. We Googled it for my mom and it had similar symptoms she had (not everything is true when Google.) 4 months later my mom has Cancer. Google was right that time while the doctors told her lose weight. The tumor was in her uterus then breast. Wich made her look like just normal weight gain. Some doctors really don't care and it took a while to get a good doctor.
@gar1442 жыл бұрын
i correctly diagnosed myself with a connective tissue disorder by researching my symptoms, because many doctors failed to put together all my collective symptoms. I can dislocate my shoulders at will and they literally just said "you're just double jointed🤪🤪🤪"
@FukaiKokoro2 жыл бұрын
Doctors need to stop saying just loose weight. I had to give up on finding out what’s wrong with me because of that, I learned a new lesson. If they refuse to do labs make them note that in your records. I’m naturally bigger and I’ve literally had doctors tell me to get an eating disorder instead of doing labs. Like she told me to weight lettuce, grapes cucumbers etc. things you should be able to eat heaps of as it’s mainly water. So many doctors blame the weight for issues instead of treating the issues that cause the weight.
@alyssastickels13242 жыл бұрын
I would say your doctor recommending not Googling things if it’s causing anxiety is understandable. But if your doctor is essentially telling you not to ask questions (which is what it sounds like) is unreasonable. So maybe try looking at it from that angle? Many doctors don’t like lots of questions because if they don’t have the answers, it makes them feel insecure. Those doctors don’t like being “challenged”. Edit: Part of the reason people don’t like recordings of their voice is because it sounds different to what they hear when they speak
@sweetluvgurl2 жыл бұрын
If a doctor is insecure or challenged, that’s their own problem, and I’ll find another doctor. lol Health isn’t something to gamble with and with a doctor who doesn’t really know what he’s doing. Doctors miss stuff all the time, and it has cost people their life.

Re: Why do people hate their own voices? I've heard it's due to the fact that the vibrations from our voice travels up our jaw bone and into our own ear, so in a way we always hear everything we say. So when you hear a recording and you're not getting that same resonance from your jaw bone, it sounds strange and different. I don't have this problem because my voice is deep and sexy as hell, but weaker, punier voices seem to have this problem.

A doctor not listening to you and telling you not to Google things is a red flag. My doctor told me I had depression. I kept telling her some symptoms didn't match. She finally admitted I had fibromyalgia, not depression after 4 years, but that still didn't cover all my issues. I kept asking if I had Chronic Fatigue Syndrome because the symptoms matched exactly with 'google'. Eventually she said that was the same as Fibro. It is not. At all. Kept googleing and got a second opinion. A Mayo doctor finally told me I had Chronic Fatigue and Fibro like I thought all along. It was insanely obviouse I had both. My fist doc just didn't know what Chronic F was and didn't want to look it up because I 'learned it on google'. Your health is too importaint to deal with people ignoring you and telling you not to research yourself. I would be so much worse off if I kept listening to her. Doctors are often wrong.

I watch a doctor on KZbin and he says patients googling their symptoms is fine and sometimes helpful. Doctors, especially generalists like a GP (which the youtube doctor is) are humans and can't know everything. If a doctor gets mad at you for googling I agree it's a huge red flag. They're just mad that the conversation is made longer because they have to answer all your questions from Google, and they're in a hurry.

If you tell the people(probably sales people) that come to your door looking for the homeowner that you(or your hypothetical parents living there) are just renters they will go away and not bother you. This comes in handy for me. But hey if you are in the mood to listen to a sales pitch from scam-y roofers wanting to inspect your roof for hail damage, or new window sales people, or home security folks that want you to have a new monthly payment so you feel safe you can tell them you are the homeowner and the decision maker of the household.

People often don't realise that their age, gender, region they live in, medical history, family medical history, lifestyle, etc. are all essential to making a diagnosis, so a lot of them get it wrong when they self-diagnose or google stuff. Also, some conditions have similar symptoms. When I had a gallbladder attack, I first thought I was having an anxiety attack until I started having chest pains (I had one of those before and they feel very similar), then thought it was a heart attack because it was also the same symptoms as a heart attack for people AFAB.

It came back for more at dusk a few days later and I grabbed a metal pipe and walked right up to that murderer to bash it's stinky little head in . . . and I couldn't. I ended up live trapping it and releasing it at a state park. I know it probably died anyway but giving it a chance sat better with me. the reason we don't like the sound of our own voice being played back is because it sounds nothing like how we hear it when we talk. Our vocal cords vibrate our skull and thusly eardrums when we talk so it sounds deeper and less nasally in our head.

I know the feeling of dealing with people treating you like a kid 'cause you look young. I was 36 when a teenager about 17 or so mistook me for 12 or 14 at store they worked at, and kept talking to me like a younger child, and when was all "I'm old enough to be your parent kid." They wouldn't believe me until I grabbed my drivers license to show them. Been dealing with being talked over or treated like a child my whole life, it sucks, and it gets really old fast. Every friend (or family member) I've had has at least once played the, "guess their age" game when introducing me. LoL fun times.. ah well..

@anonymous Well, I'm 5'2 😔so I think being short has a lot to do with it. People don't mistake me as that young anymore, thank goodness. (that was just the this one time and it was bizarre) Usually it's mid or late 20s, sometimes 30s. Its not some kind of brag, I hate being talked to like I'm some young kid, Id rather look my age. I'm almost 40 so now I could just point out the grey hairs or crows feet behind my glasses as proof. Granted if I was constantly mistaken for older I'd likely feel the opposite. It just gets old after so long. It's totally understandable if it's not believable, who would? it's always been a weird situation, and the novelty wore off quick while I was growing up. Thankfully I'm approaching the age where that won't be an issue anymore. I'm so ready to look as old and grumpy as I actually am.

A doctor telling me to not google things is probably totally justified, but also the fastest way to get me to switch doctors.

Oh the old doctor I worked for calls google “Dr. Google”. Doctors should NOT discourage patients from educating themselves about a medical problem they are having. If you don’t like or trust your doctor, get a new one. Having a more understanding doctor, may make a huge difference. I’ve personally been dismissed by doctors, and I almost died…not to scare you. If you have insurance, it definitely doesn’t hurt getting a second opinion. I personally like doctors that are patient and answer all questions, without being, “oh you googled shit…blahblahblah”. As long as you are not literally telling a doctor (especially a specialist) that they are wrong, BECAUSE you googled it, that’s when they absolutely have the right to bust your balls. Honestly imo I would see another specialist if he didnt prescribe you or diagnose anything, because fainting from arrhythmias is weird and kinda scary. Alex, we need you live forever!

Pyromania is part of MacDonald's Triad. MacDonald's Triad is three traits that most serial killers have in common. The three traits are pyromania, animal abuse, and bed-wetting.

as an owner of 50+ chickens raccoons are a kill on sight and opossums are a kill with probable cause

I absolutely hate racoons. They dont even eat poultry, they just kill them. Also, racoons are legally classified as pests in most places so killing them (in most places) is completely ok. To everyone who loves racoons you've never had to deal with one that kills your favorite chickens and ducks and then doesnt even eat them. So yea... Get a high power airgun, or a suppressed .22 it's a humane way to put down the pests if theyre trying to open your coop. (Also make sure that the latches on your coop have some sort of spring locking mechanism, racoons can open simple latches)

It might be the mass airflow sensor. My coworker had this same problem on his 2015 Subaru twice in 40k miles total.

The Balkans, also known as the Balkan Peninsula, is a geographic area in southeastern Europe with various geographical and historical definitions. The region takes its name from the Balkan Mountains that stretch throughout the whole of Bulgaria. The Balkan Peninsula is bordered by the Adriatic Sea in the northwest, the Ionian Sea in the southwest, the Aegean Sea in the south, the Turkish Straits in the east, and the Black Sea in the northeast. The northern border of the peninsula is variously defined. The highest point of the Balkans is Mount Musala, 2,925 metres (9,596 ft), in the Rila mountain range, Bulgaria.

"sheep shirt" apparently means like "a wolf in sheep's clothing." Calling you two-faced or that you are someone with malicious intent hiding behind kindness 🙄 idk why they'd even say that
